CELEBRATING BANGSA SUG DAY WITH A PURPOSE: FREE LEGAL SERVICES FOR THE 636TH BANGSA SUG DAY SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED ⚖️
The four-day Free Legal Services at the Lugus Booth, Capitol Site, Bangkal, Patikul, Sulu has successfully concluded.
Our final day coincided with the observance of Law Day today, September 19, 2026.
Law Day, established under Proclamation No. 609, reminds us that a sound and vigorous democracy depends on a fair justice system — one that applies to all persons without fear or favor, because wealth should never be a standard for justice, as emphasized in PhiLawsophia.
Guided by this very principle, the MSU College of Law at MSU-Sulu, in collaboration with the Province of Sulu, Bawgbug Law Clinic, IBP ZambaSulta Chapter, MSU-Sulu, and the Municipality of Lugus, brought access to legal services closer to the Bangsa Sug through free legal consultation, preparation of legal documents, and notarization of simple affidavits.
For four consecutive days, hundreds of clients were served, Alhamdulillah!
Our deepest gratitude to our dedicated volunteer lawyers, Atty. Meltino J. Sibulan, Atty. Alsibar S. Buklasan, and Atty. Shervilyn A. Jaradil, whose commitment to pro bono service embodies the true calling of the profession.
We also sincerely thank the Certified Law Student Practitioners of Batch Anughara', the staff of Buklasan Law Office, and the College of Law staff, who rendered tireless service despite the scorching heat, heavy rains, and unfavorable weather conditions.
We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Municipality of Lugus for being our home for the past four consecutive days, providing us with warm accommodations and unwavering support.
