Mindanao State University–Sulu warmly congratulates the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) on the approval by the MSU System Board of Regents (BOR) En Banc of its change of name to the College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy (CEBA), as formally declared by the Chancellor.

This milestone marks another significant step in the continuing development of the College, reflecting its expanding academic scope and commitment to excellence in economics, business, and accountancy education.

We commend the leadership, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders of the College for this meaningful institutional milestone.

The Mindanao State University–Sulu joins the celebration of World Pharmacists Day 2026, happening today at the Kansas Covered Court, Brgy. Sanraymundo, Jolo, Sulu, with the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures.”

The celebration brings together the CHS Pharmacy faculty, students, healthcare professionals, community partners, and volunteers through health lectures, free health assessments, and activities promoting responsible medication use and better health awareness.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | MSU-Sulu Honored at the Culminating Activity and Awarding Ceremony of the 59th ASEAN Founding Anniversary

The Mindanao State University–Sulu (MSU-Sulu) proudly participated in the Culminating Activity and Awarding Ceremony of the 59th ASEAN Founding Anniversary and ASEAN Month Celebration, held on September 18, 2026, at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) Gymnasium.

Adding distinction to the celebration, MSU-Sulu was recognized with Plaques of Appreciation for its notable achievements in international higher education rankings, namely:

● 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings — Rank Band: 1501+ | Recognition: New Entrant, acknowledging the University’s commitment to advancing sustainable development through excellence in education, research, innovation, and community engagement.

● World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026 — Representative Social Impact Project (C1): Rank 49, recognizing the institution’s contributions to innovation, academic excellence, and societal impact.

The University was represented during the ceremony by Prof. Amina Y. Sajili, Ms. Dermayna A. Jamar, and Ms. Kumala Abdurasa, who received the distinctions on behalf of MSU-Sulu.

These recognitions reflect MSU-Sulu’s continuing pursuit of excellence, innovation, sustainability, and meaningful societal impact, affirming its growing contribution to the advancement of Philippine higher education and its engagement in the broader ASEAN community.

MANILA | SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 — The Mindanao State University System marked another significant milestone in its continuing pursuit of institutional excellence as key agendas were successfully deliberated and approved during the Executive Committee Meeting held on September 16, 2026, and subsequently affirmed during the 276th Meeting of the MSU System Board of Regents (BOR) En Banc held today at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in Manila.

Among the key matters approved were:

● The renaming of the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) to the College of Economics, Business and Accountancy (CEBA);

● The Policy on Faculty Mentorship Incentive for Scopus-Indexed Journal Publication, strengthening the University’s commitment to advancing research productivity, scholarly mentorship, and international academic visibility; and

● The Ethics Manual, providing a strengthened institutional framework for ethical conduct, accountability, and integrity across the University System.

The successful approval of these agenda items reflects the MSU System’s continuing commitment to responsive governance, academic advancement, research excellence, and the promotion of a culture grounded in professionalism and integrity.

Representing Mindanao State University-Sulu in these significant institutional deliberations were Prof. Nagder J. Abdurahman, Ed.D., Chancellor; Prof. Abuzamier A. Asanji, J.D., Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance; Prof. Kadafi A. Mindanao State University–Sulu actively participates in the 3rd Workshop on University’s Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Implementation in the Philippines Using the AUN-QA IQA Management Toolkit Version 1.3, held on September 15–17, 2026, at Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), Zamboanga City.

Representing MSU-Sulu are Prof. Amina Y. Sajili, Prof. Grace Akalal, Ms. Marjihada H. Sakili, Ms. Sitti Alvia May M. Taludjog, and Ms. Dermayna A. Jamar.

The three-day workshop brings together higher education institutions to strengthen internal quality assurance systems and deepen institutional capacity in advancing quality, continuous improvement, and excellence in higher education.

MSU-Sulu remains committed to fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement in pursuit of meaningful and responsive higher education.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐌𝐒𝐔-𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐏𝐔

Mindanao State University–Sulu (MSU-Sulu) strengthened its institutional linkages with Western Philippines University (WPU) through a two-day benchmarking visit held on September 14–15, 2026.

Led by Chancellor Prof. Nagder J. Abdurahman, Ed.D., the MSU-Sulu delegation engaged with WPU academic units to gain insights into institutional practices and innovations in instruction, research, extension, technology, and academic services, including the use of Artificial Intelligence in higher education.

The engagement culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities, providing a framework for future cooperation in Agriculture and Fisheries, Criminology, research, faculty and staff development, student opportunities, technology initiatives, and community engagement.

Joining the Chancellor were Vice Chancellors Prof. Rafael A. Regellana, Ed.D. and Prof. Norman A. Abdurahman, Ed.D., DPA; Campus Secretary Fatima Al-Raiza S. Jundam; Executive Assistant Tasnim D. Ahajul; Deans Prof. Ronaldo A. Ancheta, Prof. Alwajir O. Tuttuh, and Prof. Datu Al-Mujiv A. Kiram; ICTC Director Yashier M. Yail; and Librarian Fadzrama B. Irilis.

The University recognizes the benchmarking engagement and MOU signing as a significant step toward expanding academic cooperation and creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation, research collaboration, and meaningful community engagement.
