The Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 (Republic Act No. 9262), also known as VAWC, aimed to protect women and children from various forms of abuse. Its main purpose is to address the pervasive issue of violence against women and children and to recognize the state's responsibility to safeguard their safety and well-being.
