In line with Sulu State College’s Institutional Mental Health Policy and in adherence to RA 11036 (Philippine Mental Health Act), SSC will observe the Ramadan Break on March 10–20, 2026.

During this period, there shall be no classes and no reporting of students, faculty members, and employees. All academic activities, on-site transactions, meetings, and related engagements are hereby suspended within the specified dates, unless otherwise announced for essential services.

This measure is implemented to support the mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being of our Muslim students and employees, especially during the last ten nights of Ramadan.

Sulu State College proudly celebrates its recognition as a BRONZE AWARD Recipient – PRIME-HRM Maturity Level II conferred by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) during the awarding ceremony held February 12, 2026, in Davao City.

This prestigious recognition was granted pursuant to CSC Resolution No. 2600056 for successfully managing and implementing human resource management systems according to documented processes, thereby achieving a process-defined HRM in the four core HRM systems under the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM).

The award was received by College President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE, together with other college officials, in behalf of the entire SSC community.

This milestone affirms Sulu State College’s unwavering commitment to excellence, accountability, and merit-based public service. It reflects the institution’s dedication to strengthening governance systems and upholding the highest standards in human resource management.

SSC Officially Opens 43rd Founding Anniversary Celebration with Inspiring Ceremony

Following the lively parade, Sulu State College held its Opening Ceremony for the 43rd Founding Anniversary on April 12, 2025, highlighting a celebration of legacy, leadership, and continued excellence.

The program was graced by Atty. Marco Cicero F. Domingo, Director III of CHED Regional Office IX, who served as the Guest Speaker. In his keynote address, Atty. Domingo commended the institution’s achievements and resilience over the past four decades, and encouraged the academic community to continue striving for innovation and quality education.

Carrying the theme “Transcendence of Stalwarts: A Legacy of Excellence,” this year’s celebration honors the remarkable contributions of individuals who helped shape the college’s legacy, while empowering the new generation to carry that torch forward.

The opening ceremony also featured messages from college officials, special intermission numbers, and the official declaration of the week-long celebration’s commencement.

As Sulu State College marks its 43rd year, the institution continues to stand strong as a beacon of hope, transformation, and excellence in the region.

Sulu State College Graduate Tops the June 2024 Special Professional Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers

We are proud to announce that Ms. Jihada M. Hadjula has secured the Top 3 in the June 2024 Special Professional Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers - Elementary.

Congratulations to Ms. Hadjula and all the passers, especially the Sulu State College community led by our esteemed president, Prof. Charisma Samparani Ututalum, CESE.

SSCFA beyond borders, empowering hope at the Sitio Taluk-Taluk brgy. Capual, Omar Sulu

To carry on with the established outreach program service, the Sulu State College Faculty Association led by the high spirited Faculty President Dr. Alnadzma U. Tulawie together with the selected Filipino club members embarked on its 2nd day to the remote haven of Omar Municipality, the Sitio Taluk-taluk on January 09, 2024.

Feeding program and Backpacks brimming with scholastic essentials were humbly distributed to the students of Pahallawan Asula Elementary School.

Beyond the distribution of supplies, the SSCFA team also conversed and engaged with the local community, fostering connections while also understanding the unique needs of people in Sitio Taluk-Taluk particularly the learners. It wasn't just about extending outreach services by the team; it was about forging relationships and creating a sustainable impact that would resonate long after the outreach day.

With this, the SSC Faculty Association extends its sincerest gratitude to the Brgy chair of Capual, Sir Arsher Asmawil moreso to his secretary Mr. Nahul Araji who served as the team's tour guide during the outreach. Ofcourse the success of this initiative wouldn't be possible if not, and owes so much to the unwavering support recieved by the Association foremost from the dynamic College President Prof. Charisma S. Ututaum, CESE. also the active Faculty Association officers and members, the dedicated Filipino club students and to everyone who had extended their help in one way or another. Once again, thank you and looking forward to more opportunities together in creating lasting impact to the community of Sulu. SULU STATE COLLEGE FACULTY ASSOCIATION IN ACTION FOR THIS SSC's YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION SEASON 2 | 01-07-24

In a dedicated effort to address the fundamental needs of our youngest community members, the Sulu State College Faculty Association spearheaded by Dr. Alnadzma U. Tulawie together with the other SSCFA officers and selected Filipino Club Members conducted an outreach program with the theme: "SSCFA beyond borders: connecting hearts, nurturing young minds" at the farflung place of Brgy. Kabungkol, Talipao Sulu.

Highlighted in the program was the distribution of backpacks each curated with necessary school supplies to the primary grade level students of Kabungkol Elementary School and Art Materials for the intermidiate grade levels. Feeding program and engaging parlor games was also incorporated nurturing not only the academic needs but also the students' overall sense of well being as laughter echoed on the school ground.

Our gratitude foremost to the Sulu State College visionary President Prof. Charisma S. Ututalum, CESE for her magnanimous and never ending support to the Association. Our appreciation also goes to the generous Brgy. chairperson of Kabungkol, Hon. Yashier Tulawie and to the active School principal Ms. Jocelyn Sawaban and her faculty members for the warm accomodation. To the SSCFA officers and representatives and to the selected Filipino Club members, your silent hardwork won't go unnoticed. Thank you for your unwavering efforts and dedication.

Through this initiative, the association hopes even in a simple way that may this be a way for our students' seed of compassion undoubtedly grow into a forest of positive change.
