Bobontugan, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental –December 19, 2025 became a milestone as we gathered for the P.A.S.K.O. 2025 gathering – bringing together B𝑺𝑭𝑳𝑨 (𝑩𝒐𝒃𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑭𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒌𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏), 𝑼𝑺𝑻𝑷 - 𝑱𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒂𝒏, and our local government unit, headed by the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠. This gathering wasn’t just about a meeting, it was a space to celebrate our journey so far, honor every person who’s contributed, and chart a course for the future of our coastal communities. 𝐌𝐬. 𝐋𝐞𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐍. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐉𝐮𝐯𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐬, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐱𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐧 𝐋. 𝐎𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐥, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐎𝐝𝐚𝐥, 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐁𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂. 𝐄𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐁𝐒𝐅𝐋𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨 𝐀𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐒𝐅𝐋𝐀 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, the room was filled with energy and purpose.

We reflected on our past wins: successful boat assessments, the Fish Core project in partnership with BFAR, coastal clean-ups, mangrove planting, even a thesis on engine bangkas and the fiberglass project. But the real excitement was in the plans ahead – a guso livelihood initiative that needs shallow, warm-water sites and materials like scales and fish carrier, plus organizational steps like opening a Landbank account, signing MOAs, and bookkeeping training for sustainability. Our NAME students are also taking on a challenge: developing a styrofoam alternative to protect our waters.

As Pres. Aton emphasized, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒕 – 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆’𝒔 𝒔𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕. We’re ready to turn these plans into action, build stronger livelihoods, and safeguard our coasts for generations to come. Thank you to everyone who’s part of this mission. Layag 2025 proudly marks the successful culmination of the Project-in-Term for BS Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (BSNAME) Batches 2 and 3, held on December 11, 2025, at Annex Room 004.

The event showcased students’ creativity, technical competence, and professionalism in Ship Design and Contracts and Specifications, with active participation from BSNAME Batches 5 and 6 through exhibit displays and peer voting — transforming it into a meaningful celebration of collaboration and engagement within the department.

In a momentous celebration of achievement and perseverance, a Testimonial Dinner was held in honor of the newly registered Naval Architects, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑵𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑶𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓 2025 𝑵𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑬𝒙𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏. The event took place on November 7, 2025, at Sophie Red Hotel, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, marking a historic milestone as the first-ever batch to bring pride and distinction to their institution and the program.

Messages of pride and inspiration filled the evening as the attendees reflected on the challenges conquered and the bright futures ahead of the new naval architects. The celebration served as a testament to the USTP's growing excellence and the strong foundation laid by Batch Alpha for future generations of naval architects.
