Since its founding in 1972, Colegio de Santo Niรฑo de Jasaan has envisioned fostering humane education. This means nurturing empathy, compassion, and respect for human dignity. This serves as a pathway to social transformation and stronger communities.

This aligns with the World Health Organizationโ€™s World Su***de Prevention Day, bearing the theme โ€œChanging the Narrative on Su***deโ€. This theme urges societies to break harmful stereotypes, reduce stigma, and encourage open dialogue (WHO, 2024).

As Santo Ninians, we are called to embody kindness and social responsibility, promote equitable access to mental health care, and build inclusive, supportive spaces where no one struggles alone. Together, through compassion and collective action, we can choose hope and create a culture that values every life.

A total of three students from CSNJ participated in the tournamentโ€”who are also siblings: Kent Andrew Steve Q. Gatab, a Grade 10 student; Krizziah Ann Shane Q. Gatab, a Grade 7 student; and Khie Arriane Stefanny Q. Gatab, a Grade 2 student. They competed against various schools across the Davao Region, with each bout reflecting their dedication and respect for the art of Karatedo. Their remarkable bond as siblings was evident in every match, encouraging one another between rounds and drawing attention from spectators and judges alike.

Krizziah earned a ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜‡๐—ฒ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—น, displaying strong technique and determination throughout her matches. The youngest, Khie, delivered an outstanding performance and secured a ๐—ด๐—ผ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—น, earning praise from coaches and spectators.

โ€œI was really happy because during the final match for the gold, time was almost up and my score was still zero while my opponent already had three points. Thankfully, I was able to catch up just in time. Despite how tired I was, I still managed to win the gold medal,โ€ Khie shared.

Meanwhile, Kent, the eldest, reflected on his performance:

โ€œIn my second game, no matter how hard I tried, I was already out of breath. I felt really exhausted, and thatโ€™s why I wasnโ€™t able to win the match.โ€

Although Kent did not place, their presence and unwavering support for one another throughout the event spoke volumes of their bond and sportsmanship.

Their mother stood proudly among the crowd, serving as their biggest supporter during the one-day tournament. She watched each of their fights with emotion and pride, capturing memorable moments and cheering from the sidelines.

โ€œWe would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Colegio de Santo Niรฑo de Jasaan for the unwavering support and trust in allowing our kids to represent the school in the 40th Kadayawan Interschool Karatedo Championship. It is truly an honor for them to carry the name of CSNJ with pride,โ€ said Mrs. Gatab in a Facebook post.

Guided by their coach, Sensei Aldrin E. Gentio, the students trained for months, balancing academic responsibilities with daily practice. Their hard work, paired with the strong moral support of their family, allowed them to compete with heart and confidence in one of the most respected martial arts events in the region.

The participation of the three siblings in the 40th Kadayawan Interschool Karatedo Championship not only brought pride to CSNJ but also highlighted the values of perseverance, unity, and discipline. Their journeyโ€”marked by victories, challenges, and a powerful family bondโ€”serves as an inspiration to the CSNJ community, proving that with dedication and heart, greatness can be achieved both on and off the mat.

From July 1 to 25, 2025, Colegio de Santo Niรฑo de Jasaan (CSNJ) joyfully celebrated Nutrition Month 2025. The month-long celebration featured a variety of engaging and educational activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and nutrition awareness among students.

One of the highlights was the Daily Nutrition Trivia held from July 11 to 22, where students showcased their knowledge and enthusiasm by answering health- and nutrition-related questions. This activity not only tested their awareness but also encouraged a deeper understanding of healthy habits.

On July 11, the school hosted a Poster Making Contest and a "Cooking Without Fire" activity. Students demonstrated their creativity and innovation through visually compelling posters and nutritious no-cook recipes, promoting the importance of healthy eating in an enjoyable and artistic way.

The celebration culminated on July 25 with the much-awaited Nutri Jingle Contest. Students from various grade levels performed original jingles, highlighting messages of nutrition advocacy, health, and wellness in fun and engaging performances.

The successful implementation of the Nutrition Month celebration was spearheaded by Mr. Romeo Jr. A. Calvo, TLE Coordinator, in coordination with the MAPEH and Values Education Teachers: Mrs. Marylou M. Siarez, Ms. Sheila Mae T. Callo, Ms. Vivian Mae D. Bade, and Mr. Blace More A. Jalapan. Their dedication and collaborative spirit ensured the smooth conduct of each event.

Special thanks are also extended to Ms. Russel Jane P. Casiรฑo, Mr. Lars Vincent F. Pagapular, Mrs. Ivy Mae B. Laagno, Mr. Emmanuel I. Valcorza (for physical arrangements), Mr. Jonhnre Matthew V. Absin, and to all the Preschool and Elementary Teachers for their active cooperation and support.
