History of the Adventist Elementary School - Jaro, Inc.

Adventist Integrated Mission School, Inc. is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization governed by Jaro SDA Church and overseen by the WVC Education Department. The current location of AIMS is historically significant because it is the site of the Philippines' first Seventh-day Adventist school in the entire Philippines, which opened in 1916 and is now known as Adventist Academy-Iloilo at Bongco, Pototan, Iloilo. With that concept in place (based on Dr. Jesse Dagoon's verbal precept), Jaro SDA Church Officers decided in 1992 to set up a school called Jaro Kiddie School, which is located behind the church and only caters to kindergarten students. Jaro Kiddie School began and continued to operate using Adventist curriculum until 2003.
The Jaro SDA Church Board recognized the value of education ministry and decided to upgrade the school's status from kindergarten to elementary school. A challenge that the church must overcome, particularly in terms of finances. Through the assistance of Mr. Carlos Griño, the school began operations in 2003 as Jaro Adventist Elementary School, catering to kindergarten through Grade 4, with Grades 5 and 6 added the following year. As a separate program of the Jaro SDA Church, the school continued its educational ministry.
With the approval of the Church Board, the School Board decided to change its name to Adventist Integrated Mission School, Inc., which is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a non-sectarian, non-profit institution. AIMS received DepEd recognition in 2018 for offering Kindergarten to Grade 6 under the K to 12 Curriculum. AIMS was formally approved by the WVC Education Council in 2019 to become an Adventist Sister school under the supervision of the WVC Education Department. AIMS has produced elementary graduates, some of whom are now professionals, for the past 18 years since its inception.
AIMS continues to serve the church through its educational ministry today, with its Vision: "A Christ-centered, child-friendly school that promotes quality Christian Education and seeks to provide balanced and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities and experiences toward the wholeness of the child.” Its mission is to provide high-quality Christ-centered education to all students by providing balanced development through training, education, and molding. We can provide an ideal learning environment by providing adequate school facilities and highly motivated and competent faculty and staff.
