JAGNA, Bohol โ€“ The Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) conducted its Recognition Program for both Junior and Senior High School students on Friday afternoon, April 10, 2026, at the Jagna Cultural Center. The ceremony carried the theme, โ€œFormed by the Shepherdโ€™s Heart: Learners Living the Way of St. Francis of Assisi.โ€

As the School Year 2025-2026 concludes, the institution held its annual ceremony to recognize studentsโ€™ academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and participation in various school-related activities.

The program commenced at 1:30 p.m. with an invocation led by Nissi B. Manguilimotan and Christian Paul M. Salugsugan from Grades 7 and 9, respectively, both recognized for their excellence in Values Education. This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, conducted by Gwen T. Legazpi, Top Grade 11 student.

The recognition of students began with the awarding of honor students and special accolades, starting with Grade 7, followed by Grade 8. An inspirational message was then delivered by Ms. Ma. Julie Pearl B. Aclan, the Junior High School principal, highlighting the importance and benefits of the CVIF Dynamic Learning Program (DLP). In her speech, she discussed the advantages of the CVIF-DLP, especially during the pandemic, noting how it helped build a strong foundation for students' academic development.

Following the message, the awarding resumed with Grade 9 students, and subsequently the Grade 11 strands: ABM, HUMSS, ICT, and STEM.

The program concluded with a closing prayer led by Nicole Angela N. Olandria, a Grade 8 student who also excelled in Values Education. Special acknowledgment was given to the event hosts, Ms. Charlen C. Balaba and Ms. Rocelyn Mae H. Nalla.

As each accolade was presented, the ceremony marked not only the recognition of achievements but also the dedication and perseverance demonstrated by the students. These accomplishments reflect the growth of the learners as they continue to uphold the values instilled by the institution.

As the school year ends, students reflect on the experiences that shaped them, the challenges they overcame, and the milestones they reached. These achievements serve not only as recognition of past efforts but also as a foundation for future endeavors.

With this, the Recognition Program formally concludes the School Year 2025โ€“2026. Congratulations to all awardees and to the entire student body for a year well accomplished.

Forty years after EDSA People Power Revolution, we honor a chapter in Philippine history that highlights the power of collective action and peaceful change.

As students of history, may we continue to ask questions, seek truth, and carry forward the values of unity, responsibility, and informed citizenship.

JAGNA, Bohol โ€” For three consecutive meaningful days, the Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) community gathered as one to celebrate the school's 97th annual anniversary, an occasion that is built from decades of
blazing passion, faith, service, and unity.

Day one, February 19, started with a solemn Holy Mass, grounding the celebration in
gratitude and reflection. The opening program, held in the Jagna Cultural Center (JCC), formally
started with an invocation led by the SHS-SSC Chancellorโ€”Kristiane Mae C. Tan. The following
opening remarks, delivered by the renowned school president, Dr. Christopher C. Bernido,
emphasized the importance of a strong foundation in life, setting the community for a reflective moment.

The first day of celebration showcased the academic and expressive excellence of the CVIF
students, with choral readings, persuasive speeches, speech choir, and radio broadcasting taking center at the stage. The following afternoon resumed with JHS TLE activities back at the campus, and the Sport's Fest closing ceremony at the Jagna Cultural Center (JCC).

On Day Two, February 20, the campus buzzed with excitement as the vibrant exhibits
and booths of the students formally opened, along with the CVIF Chess Cup, organized by Sir
Gio R. Bernaldez. In the afternoon, anticipation steadily built for the coronation of the CVIF King
and Queen of Love 2026 as the basketball exhibition games proudly commenced.

The coronation ceremonies started with an invocation given by an SHS Faculty memberโ€”Mr.
Carlo B. Sandigan, proceeded by welcome remarks given by the SHS Principalโ€”Ms. Ruby Anna O. Raรฑoa. The evening reached its highlight as Tobby V. Cafe was proclaimed King of Love 2026, with Mary Colean N. Halasan alongside him, crowned Queen of Love 2026โ€”a moment that stood as a proud milestone of the anniversary celebration.

The last day culminated in a lively Family Day at the Jagna Cultural Center
with its theme: "CVIF @ 97. One Foundation, One Family, One Future." The motorcade with the
CVIF Royal Court 2026 filled the streets with buzzing energy. The celebration continued at the
Jagna Cultural Center with an invocation led by an SHS Instructorโ€”Mr. Miko P. Pahayac and
opening remarks, delivered by the SHS PTGA Presidentโ€”Ms. Olive Laine C. Tan.

The afternoon showcased excellent performances from the Drum and Lyre Corps, dance
groups, vocal contestants, teachers, and parents. Impromptu contestants impressed the stage,
while the awarding of TLE Day and Chess Cup winners displayed ingrained excellence.
The laughter that echoed during the parlor games and overwhelming support from families are
testaments of a united community. As the anniversary draws to a close, one truth remains clear: CVIF's strength lies not only in its history, but also in the people who continue to invest in the future. One Foundation. One Family. One Future.

JAGNA, BOHOLโ€” Selected Grade 12 students from Central Visayan Institute Foundation (CVIF) served as youth collaborators and translation support during the implementation phase of the Design for Global Health Competition (DGHC) from February 15โ€“18, 2026.

The activity was organized by Student Innovation for Global Health Technology (SIGHT) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in partnership with Philos Health in Jagna, Bohol. The program brought five university teams from Hong Kong, Singapore, and Manila to pilot health technology solutions addressing local community needs.

On the opening day, CVIF students were paired with their designated teams. This day served as an opportunity for them to get to know their partner teams and learn more about their projects.

The primary role of the CVIF students was to translate local-language content into English to improve communication and to offer suggestions on how their teamsโ€™ products could be adapted to better fit the local setting.

On February 16, a fieldwork activity was conducted in Barangays Boctol, Lonoy, and Tejero, during which the teams gathered additional information on the local situation. They interviewed local health workers and other stakeholders to improve their products and ensure that these solutions effectively addressed the identified problems while remaining appropriate for the community context.

On the 17th, the groups were split into two in the morning. The two dental teams participated in the fluoride varnish medical mission at Brgy. Can-ipol, and also interviewed the doctors present about their thoughts on the prototypes. The three hypertension-focused teams, on the other hand, interviewed barangay health workers (BHWs) to gather more information about the problem. They also tested their prototypes to determine whether these were user-friendly for the BHWs.

In the afternoon, the dental teams finalized their presentation and refined their products, while the other teams observed a Philos Health medical mission in Brgy. Lonoy and interviewed stakeholders once again.

On the final day, the university teams presented their projects before a panel of judges. CVIF students also shared their key insights and reflections from the four-day experience. The evening concluded with a showcase of talents and the awarding of certificates of participation, followed by the announcement of winners.

Through this collaboration, CVIF students were given the opportunity to support real-world health innovation initiatives while gaining exposure to global partnerships. The experience allowed them to contribute meaningfully to community-based solutions and broaden their understanding of healthcare challenges.

CVIF extends its heartfelt gratitude to SIGHT and Philos Health for this valuable partnership and looks forward to future collaborations.
