This Session of our Leadership Training underscored a vital truth: a true leader is always prepared to protect. We were honored to have the personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) join our SSLG Leadership Training to conduct a comprehensive session on Fire Safety.

Leadership extends far beyond organizing school activities; it encompasses the safety and well-being of the entire student body. The BFP team provided our officers with the essential knowledge needed to act as first responders and safety advocates within our campus.

Through this talk, we learned that staying calm under pressure and knowing exactly what to do in an emergency are among the most important skills a student leader can possess.

This Session of our Leadership Training reached a powerful peak with a deep dive into the inner workings of a leader, titled Leadership and Self-Awareness, presented by the inspiring Ms. Maria Virale Jamisola.

Ms. Jamisola opened the session with a fundamental truth: the hardest person you will ever have to lead is yourself. She emphasized that effective leadership is an "inside-out" process. Before we can manage teams, organize events, or inspire our peers, we must first understand our own triggers, strengths, and blind spots. Self-awareness is the compass that keeps a leader on track when the pressure of the role begins to mount.

In the high-pressure world of student leadership—balancing academics, extracurriculars, and the responsibilities of office—mental health is often the first thing to be sacrificed. Sir Joven introduced us to the "Dance of Life" (Biodanza), a system that combines music, movement, and authentic transition to help leaders reconnect with themselves and their peers. Sir Marvin challenged every participant to see their position through a lens of gratitude and service. The journey toward a better school environment officially began. We kicked off the 1st Session of our Leadership Training, led by Mr. Reymond, focusing on the fundamental pillars of a functional and flourishing campus: Effective Implementation of School Rules and Discipline Management.

Mr. Reymond opened the session by shifting the perspective on discipline—moving it away from mere "punishment" and toward the idea of "shared responsibility." He emphasized that for a school to truly excel, its leaders must be the first to embody the standards they expect from others. It isn't just about following the handbook; it’s about understanding the why behind every policy and learning how to communicate those values with both firmness and fairness.
