Subject: Preparatory Measures for the Incoming Typhoon
Date: November 2, 2025
In view of the weather advisories issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on the possible entry of a typhoon within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, all schools are hereby advised to undertake precautionary measures to ensure the safety of school personnel, learners, facilities, equipment, and learning resources.
School Heads are directed to:
Ensure the safety of all teaching and non-teaching personnel by reminding everyone to take necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary travel during inclement weather.
Secure school facilities, including classrooms, offices, roofs, windows, and gates, to minimize possible damage from strong winds and heavy rains.
Safeguard all learning materials, ICT equipment, and important school documents by storing them in safe, elevated, and dry locations.
Disconnect electrical equipment and appliances when not in use to prevent electrical accidents.
Inspect and clear drainage systems, gutters, and surroundings to ensure proper water flow and reduce the risk of flooding.
Coordinate with the Local Government Unit (LGU) and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) personnel for monitoring, emergency assistance, and possible use of school facilities as evacuation centers, when authorized.
Monitor PAGASA, LGU, and DepEd announcements for updates, including the suspension of classes and work.
All School Heads are enjoined to take proactive measures to safeguard personnel, learners, facilities, and school property, and to ensure the continued safety and readiness of the school community during the typhoon.
For your guidance and strict compliance.
Keep safe our SDO Capiz family.
