In celebration of 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙨’ 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝 2026 and the 29th IPRA Commemoration, Sultan Kudarat State University—through the approval of University President Atty. Cyrus E. Torreña, DPA, MNSA, and the endorsement of the Vice President for Academic Affairs—officially grants the request of the KaMSU Organization and OSAS to allow Indigenous Peoples (IP) students to wear their traditional IP attire every Wednesday throughout October 2026! 🏛️

This initiative aligns with this year’s theme: "Empowering Indigenous Peoples: Strengthening Rights, Culture, and Ancestral Domains," providing a meaningful opportunity for our students to express their cultural identity while promoting respect and unity across our campuses.

📍 SKSU Campuses, please be guided:

IP students across all campuses are allowed to wear traditional attire every Wednesday this October 2026.

Safety, identification, and academic requirements must still be observed—especially in laboratories, clinical areas, or classes requiring specific protective clothing.

Let us honor our rich heritage, celebrate our diversity, and wear our identities with pride! 💚💛

Hosted at the 𝙎𝙆𝙎𝙐 𝘽𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 on September 11, 2026, stood as a decisive testament to this principle. Bringing together Indigenous student leaders and representatives across five distinct campuses, namely 𝘼𝘾𝘾𝙀𝙎𝙎, 𝘽𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣, 𝙄𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙣, 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜, the assembly reinforced the organization’s enduring commitment to empowering Indigenous youth throughout the university system. Facilitated with professional dedication by Masters of Ceremony Ms. Johannah Mae G. Bungan, outgoing KaMSU System-Wide President, and Ms. Jeblyn Heart L. Bilal, outgoing Auditor, the gathering blended institutional reflection with forward-looking advocacy.

The morning proceedings focused on grounding members in the organizational framework that sustains their collective work. Comprehensive orientation sessions covered the core functions, member benefits, operational regulations, and fundamental governing principles outlined in the Constitution and By-Laws of the organization. Formal addresses from university leaders further underscored the significance of the assembly. Sir Arnie L. Laguey, PhD(c), KaMSU System-Wide Adviser, alongside 𝙎𝙞𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙮 𝘾. 𝙅𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙣, 𝙈𝘽𝘼, who represented Bagumbayan Campus Director 𝙎𝙞𝙧 𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙡 𝙍𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙇. 𝙊ñ𝙖𝙨, 𝙋𝙝𝘿, reminded attendees that cultural identity and unified student leadership remain essential pillars for genuine institutional representation.

A pivotal transition occurred as outgoing President 𝙈𝙨. 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖𝙝 𝙈𝙖𝙚 𝙂. 𝘽𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣 delivered the Financial and Accomplishment Reports, providing a clear accounting of the progress achieved during her tenure. In her valedictory address, she expressed confidence in the incoming board before 𝙎𝙞𝙧 𝘼𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙇. 𝙇𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙮, 𝙋𝙝𝘿(𝙘) administered the official oath-taking, formally installing the newly elected leadership into office.

Setting a clear strategic vision for the term ahead, the newly inducted System-Wide President 𝙈𝙧. 𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙤 𝙠. 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙠𝙤𝙮 𝙅𝙧 closed the assembly with an ambitious mandate for the incoming executive council. Emphasizing that Indigenous student representation must extend beyond symbolic presence, the new president called on officers to maintain high standards of advocacy, to actively pursue the restructuring of university-wide frameworks for systemic equity, and to provide direct operational support to campus-based presidents in securing formal accreditation across all units.
