DOMAEL, PARAGAS AMASS AWARDS

Two smart students of Begang National High School must have delivered their goods perfectly in this new normal as each emerged champion in Department of Interior and Local Government DILG IX Women's Month Celebration Poster-Making Contest with the theme "Juana Laban sa Pandemic: Kaya!" vis-à-vis First Mathematical Olympiad held on March 26
Mark Jayson Babor Domael, 24, a Senior High Mural Artist and Cartoonist bested 93 entries across the region and emerged Champion among the remaining top ten entries. Meanwhile, Rubynika Paragas, 18, also Senior High math wiz outsmarted other competitors and ranked First place in Junior High School category respectively.
As pride of BeNHS, both Domael and Paragas received overwhelming recognition from teachers and local netizens. They are consistent honor students and also achievers in Campus journalism, supreme student government among others.
Having represented Isabela de Basilan triumphantly, City Mayor Hon. Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman extended her congratulatory words to Domael, his proud parents and teachers of Begang National High School
“He is someone we should be proud of, we will continue to support and provide flatforms for him”, Claudio M. Ramos, City Tourism Officer, Isabela de Basilan uttered encouraging words.
Recently, the city tourism office topped Mark as one of the local mural artists and painted meaningful subjects on base walls along the streets.
DILG Region IX, focal agency for the contest in an official Facebook post revealed the top 10 entries and gave thanks to talented and creative students for sharing artworks. Awarding of winners was made virtual via Zoom application
The quest for 1st Mathematical Olympiad was in line with the province’ 47th Founding Anniversary or Tennun Pakardjaan Festival. Arnel B. Hajan, Ed. D. Education Program Supervisor for Mathematics initiated the event with the support of the provincial government.
Hajan, who is so sincere to improved student’s performance in math initiated and thought of this intervention.
“We encourage teachers and students to love and embrace Mathematics rather than hating it”, Hajan added.
Pilar Rose O. Pil, Paragas’ coach invested all her time coaching to hook the first-place spot.
“I just can’t believe that despite this trying time, everyone in the school shown their support and I’m grateful about that, she said.
