Our 𝑩𝑺 𝑯𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 program is once again charting a course for success, launching another cohort of aspiring seafarers into their maritime journey. These dedicated students are embarking on the APEX Program aboard the M/V St. Michael the Archangel, operated by 2GO Travel.
This invaluable onboard training is meticulously supervised by Shipboard Training Officer, Mr. Bryan Manansala, and Dr. Ralph Angelo D. Alipio, Dean of the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (IHTM) at BaSC. This initiative underscores BaSC's commitment to producing highly skilled professionals ready for the global maritime industry. In line with this, the program also emphasizes continuous training, including the 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 (PSSR) as mandated by the 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙚𝙖𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙧𝙨 (STCW) 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, as amended. The requirement aligns with international standards set forth by the 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑰𝑴𝑶) 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝑺𝑪.560(108). These crucial trainings, along with other relevant qualifications for working onboard a ship, will be conducted at the PNTC Colleges - Maritime Training Center. This comprehensive approach ensures that our graduates are not only well-versed in hospitality but also fully equipped with the necessary certifications to excel in their seafaring careers.

On the 30th day of September 2024, the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management led the Flag Ceremony thru the dynamic and transformational leadership of the Dean, 𝙈𝙧. 𝙍𝙖𝙡𝙥𝙝 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙤 𝘿. 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙤 along with the other active and supportive 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙮 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨 and with the assistance of the 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡

Furthermore, various activities were hosted of the said department such as the 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂: 𝑸𝑵𝑨, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒆𝒆. This activity resulted in a resounding success enjoyed by the students of Basilan State College. The winners of the Trivia QNA are as follows: 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐡 𝐁. 𝐅𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚, 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐥𝐩𝐡 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐢, 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐳 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐳, 𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐃.𝐑 𝐃𝐚𝐮𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐮𝐬𝐨𝐩 𝐀. 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥, with a cash prize of ₱200.00 each. As part of this, students are encouraged to write a letter and drop it in the designated drop box. Please note that there will be a separate box for each respective instructor, and students may send their letters to any teacher, regardless of the program they are in. These boxes will be located and displayed in the IHTM Building hallway.

In addition, let us use this moment to honor, and express our utmost gratitude to our beloved teachers, who dedicate their time, hard work and effort to teach, train, mold, and prepare us for the future career that awaits us on our way after graduation. (maximum of 250 words, in Filipino or English).
4. 𝑳𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒚: Only one entry per participant is allowed.
5. 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚: Participants must ensure the originality and authenticity of their designs. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified.

All our gatherings, oriented towards ‘celebration,’ should be regarded as the beginning of great new things for our wonderful community. This event was spearheaded by Mr. Gerald D. Cuartocruz, along with Ms. Bonnavie S. Sarles, the Executive Council adviser, and supported by Ms. Norsalyn I. Locquiao and Mr. Richie S. Ramirez, with acknowledgment from the Dean of IHTM, Mr. Ralph Angelo D. Alipio.

Without hesitation and with unwavering dedication, our pioneers have taken bold steps to showcase their talents and vast potential, preparing them to rise to the occasion as genuine leaders. As we look forward to the coming year, the principles of excellence, innovation, and inclusiveness remain our core values. Eight (8) pairs of candidates will compete for the crown in the inaugural 𝑺𝒖𝒃𝒖𝒍 𝒅𝒖𝒌 𝑩𝒖𝒅𝒋𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒊 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒚𝒂𝒏 2024. With that, the Supreme Student Council is thrilled to introduce our lovely candidates.

Select your favorite candidate by reacting to their respective photos. The candidate with the most reactions will receive the People's Choice Award (1 for male and 1 for female). Only heart, care, and like reactions will be counted.

We strictly uphold fair and honest competition. Any malicious and/or technical manipulation will result in the automatic disqualification of the candidates.

Voting will conclude on May 06, 2024, at 6:00 AM sharp and will be tabulated by the Council.
