Independent eating is a key component of the Montessori toddler program. It supports the child's growing autonomy, self-confidence, coordination, and ability to care for themselves.

In a Montessori environment, toddlers are encouraged to:

🩵Serve themselves appropriate portions of food when possible.
🩵Use child-sized utensils, cups, plates, and pitchers.
🩵Feed themselves at their own pace.
🩵Pour water or milk from small pitchers into their cups.
🩵Help set and clear the table.
🩵 Wipe spills and clean up after eating.
