Santiago Integrated School is deeply honored to have been part of the Caceres Clergy Assembly hosted by Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish.

Our heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to showcase the vibrant culture of Iriga through the Tinagba Street Dancing performance, rendered with pride and excellence by our talented learners. We are equally proud of our selected students who warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and participants, embodying the values of hospitality, discipline, and service.

The assembly, presided over by His Excellency, Most Reverend Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, Archbishop of Caceres, gathered around 150 Reverend Fathers from across the Archdiocese of Caceres under the gracious hosting of Rev. Fr. Joven Abaรฑo.

Thank you for allowing Santiago Integrated School to contribute to this meaningful and faith-filled gathering. We remain committed to nurturing not only academic excellence, but also cultural pride and spiritual formation in our learners.

To God be the glory! ๐Ÿ™โœจ

Today, our school commemorates the historic February 25 People Power Revolution, when millions of Filipinos peacefully united to reclaim democracy and shape a new chapter in our nationโ€™s history. We remember the courage of ordinary citizens and soldiers who chose unity over division, proving that true power rests in the hands of the people. As we honor this milestone, we are remindedโ€”through the enduring anthem โ€œBayan Koโ€โ€”that freedom, responsibility, and love of country must continue to guide the next generation.

The morning of 25 February found Manila preparing for two inaugurations. The people flocked to Club Filipino in San Juan to witness the start of a new era. All across the metro and in cities and towns across the country, from Baguio to Davao, the people joined in the last wave of People Power.

As the day went on, more and more of the military broke away to side with the people. Triumphal crowds gathered around Nagtahan and Mendiola, cutting up the barbed wire that once separated them to bring home as souvenirs. The people could feel that the a new page had turned in the story of our people; and that they were the driving force for that change. Whatever lay ahead in the future, they would be the ones who would write it. The whole world now knew that in the Philippines, Power was in the hands of the People.

"Bayan Ko" was a popular nationalistic song from the early 20th century. It signified one's longing for the country to be free from oppression and subjugation. As a symbol of our struggle for freedom, the song had become an unofficial 2nd national anthem and remains a staple for celebrations and protests. During the EDSA People Power Revolution, the song was often heard to rally the people during moments of intense pressure or crisis, with Radio Veritas intermittently playing it as part of their broadcast.
