D' (L)atest | University-Wide Teacher's Day Celebration 2024

University of Saint Anthony dedicates a day of celebration for its teaching staff from the Basic Education Departments to the College Department through its annual Teacher's Day Celebration, this year, it was celebrated on October 4, 2024 at the USANT-Forum.

It was a jam-packed day for the teachers as the morning event commenced with a Holy Mass presided by the University Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Sanny DC. Apin followed immediately by the entrance of the university's teaching staff, the presentation of Model Teacher nominees, and finally the announcement for this year's Model Teacher Awardees from the Montessori Grade School, Junior High School, Senior High School and College Department which was done by the respective Basic Education principals, Mrs. Janice A. Banzagales, Dr. Francia T. Buffe and Mrs. Nenita T. Andalis followed by Dr. Jose B. Ballesteros for the College Department.

Model Teacher Awardees were Mrs. Maria Kristina R. Aquiler for the Montessori Grade School, Miss Angelica Mae R. Lizardo for Junior High School, Mr. Henrico B. Sernal for Senior High School and Mr. Arnel A. Turiano for the College Department.

In the afternoon's event, a Fashion Runway for teachers was held. The representatives from each department mesmerized the audience with their fashionista attires and charisma. Also, a showcase of Anthonian teachers' talents were witnessed which include various performances like dancing, singing, literary, and acting which was all enjoyed by both the teachers and learners.

Aside from this, the fun of the afternoon was also ignited by the raffle draw giving each the winner, vouchers from different sponsoring food stalls, appliances and many more.

Before the said culminating activity, the College of Teacher Education headed by its Dean, Dr. Rafael V. Oñate and the Circle of Young Mentors (CYM) headed by its president Chester Alaine Sumpay sponsored various university-wide competitions like Thank-You Card Making, Poem Writing, Tigsik Writing, Spoken Word Poetry, 1-Minute Video, Photography Contest, Song Writing Contest and many more, all dedicated for teachers.

There were also activities and services for the teachers like the Free Medical Check-up and Services, Free Legal Consultation, Concurrent Sessions about relevant topics for teachers and Guro-Henyo contest.

These event and activities are evident proof of USANT's way of showing its love and gratitude for its teaching workforce.
