As far as one knows, โokay na po ba โto?โ has never been a particularly convincing question.
Behind every plate returned with a few more corrections, every solution we had to solve twice, every โbalikan mo โyan,โ and every lesson that somehow made more sense only after we left the classroom, are the instructors who have spent their days teaching us to look closer.
Today, we turn the drawings around.
For Teachersโ Day, we celebrate the instructors of the ๐๐ข๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ก๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐ (๐๐๐) โ the people who have seen our first drafts, our wrong computations, our questionable design decisions, our rushed submissions, and, occasionally, the version that finally made sense.
Teaching is a strange kind of work. You spend years giving away things you know, knowing that one day, your students will take those lessons somewhere you will never see. The plans will change. The projects will be forgotten. The classrooms will have different faces.
But something remains. A way of thinking. A higher standard. A correction we still hear in our heads before we make the same mistake twice.
To our instructors, thank you for teaching beyond the lesson plan. For challenging us when โpwede naโ was not enough, for giving patience where we needed it, and for reminding us that good work is rarely finished in the first draft.
At this moment, the plates and computations can wait.
Happy Teachersโ Day to the instructors who continue to shape the minds, hands, and work of future engineers and architects. ๐ค
