Linking academic research with dynamic industry practice, the College of Business Education (CBE) of Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges (AMMC) successfully mounted its Feasibility Study Symposium at the Col. Bayani P. Mendoza Tower of Strength (BPMTS).

Anchored on the theme “𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺: 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘝𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴," the assembly brought together fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students and CBE faculty members to glean practical, real-world business acumen.

The symposium featured distinguished resource speakers representing crucial public and legal sectors: Ms. Stephannie D. Fernandez, MBA, from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); Ms. Danielle Pilar Y. Daniel and Ms. Rochen Charisse R. Dugenia from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR); and legal practitioner Atty. Ivanhoe Belle C. Sala.

Through their respective presentations, the invited professionals provided deep dives into market considerations, business compliance, taxation protocols, and regulatory frameworks—equipping the graduating cohort with essential strategies to turn speculative proposals into legally viable, sustainable commercial enterprises.

The CBE commended the students for their active engagement during the sessions, noting that the shared insights establish a solid groundwork as they finalize their academic research and prepare to step into the competitive corporate arena.

Reaffirming its mandate for academic and practical excellence, the CBE continues to initiate high-impact learning engagements designed to develop competent, ethical, and industry-ready business professionals.

Bridging classroom instruction with grassroots healthcare delivery, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery students from Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges (AMMC) officially launched their Community Clinical Practicum through a formal courtesy call at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Ipil.

The courtesy visit serves as an essential preliminary step, aligning the institution’s clinical objectives with local public health programs. Facilitated by Nurse I Chiradee D. Guia, alongside AMMC BSM faculty members Jessa P. Arcinal and Cherry L. Marquez, the engagement establishes the framework for hands-on, community-based training designed to immerse future midwives in direct primary care.

During the practicum, the students will gain essential exposure to maternal and child healthcare, community health profiling, prenatal and postnatal monitoring, and public health education. This on-the-ground experience reinforces core competencies while cultivating empathy, cultural sensitivity, and responsive clinical judgment in serving local families.

Through strategic partnerships with primary health facilities like RHU Ipil, AMMC continues to advance its commitment to producing competent, community-oriented healthcare professionals equipped to deliver vital care where it is needed most.

In an active move to fortify institutional linkages and expand hands-on training opportunities for future law enforcers, Dr. Aladin V. Sarsalejo, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) at Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges (AMMC), paid a formal courtesy call on Coast Guard Station Zamboanga Sibugay Commander, Capt. Carlos M. Dela Rosa Jr.

The official meeting focused on strengthening inter-agency cooperation, specifically paving the way for the on-the-job training (OJT) and field deployment of AMMC Criminology interns.

Key discussion points and objectives established during the engagement include: Maritime Law Enforcement Exposure: Integrating CCJE interns into station operations to gain practical knowledge of coastal security, port monitoring, and maritime safety enforcement. Skill Development & Discipline: Exposing students to rigorous Coast Guard standards, including search and rescue protocols, disaster response mechanisms, and administrative workflows. Standardized Mentorship: Coordinating structured guidance and evaluation criteria between station officers and AMMC academic coordinators to ensure interns meet core competencies. Community and Port Safety Initiatives: Involving student interns in community-oriented maritime safety campaigns and civic actions within the province.

Dean Sarsalejo underscored that AMMC remains committed to providing its criminology students with diverse, frontline exposure across multiple law enforcement and uniformed service sectors. Capt. Dela Rosa expressed the station’s support in mentoring the trainees, highlighting the value of disciplined, practical experience in shaping capable, service-oriented criminology professionals.

In a definitive step toward fostering real-world linguistic and pedagogical competence, the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (BAELS) program at Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges (AMMC) has officially deployed its senior interns into higher education classrooms. Moving beyond conventional office-bound practicums, these interns have taken on the rigorous responsibility of college-level instruction, serving as a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic evolution and community transformation.

Traditionally, BAELS programs prepare students for diverse language-centric landscapes including corporate communications, public relations, technical writing, and research. However, recent professional tracking highlights a significant reality: a substantial portion of BAELS graduates find fulfillment and sustainable career trajectories within the education sector.

Recognizing this trend, AMMC's College of Arts in English Language Studies designed a deployment strategy that immerses interns into the active flow of tertiary education. By matching senior BAELS interns with lower-level undergraduate courses (such as Purposive Communication and foundational grammar modules), the college provides an invaluable sandbox for interns to apply advanced syntactic knowledge, discourse analysis, and communication theory to real people.

Stepping onto the platform as a college instructor, even under strict faculty supervision, presents a unique set of challenges distinct from primary or secondary student-teaching: Pedagogical Adaptability: Unlike dedicated Education majors, BAELS students spend their academic years deeply focusing on the mechanics, structure, and socio-cultural variations of the English language. Transitioning from knowing language to teaching language requires rapid adaptation in lesson design and interactive instruction. Classroom Management: Navigating a room filled with adult peers or near-peers demands a high level of dispositional readiness, emotional intelligence, and professional authority. "The "Hybrid" Modern Classroom: Adapting traditional instruction into active, learner-centered experiences requires the utilization of modern educational tech and flexible teaching methodologies.

Despite these hurdles, early evaluations from supervising professors and instructors at AMMC indicate remarkable resilience. The interns' deep foundational grounding in English syntax and communicative competence gives them a distinct edge in handling complex structural queries from their students.

The deployment represents reciprocal growth for both the student-teachers and the college ecosystem.
"Teaching is inherently reciprocal. While our BAELS interns support the development of undergraduate students, they are undergoing an internal transformation—building confidence, expanding their patience, and refining their critical thinking."

For the interns, this experience bridges the gap between theoretical syntax and applied linguistics. They learn to diagnose language barriers in real-time, modify their communication styles for diverse learners, and develop the administrative grit needed for professional life. He once mastered the algorithms of software; now, he upholds the rhythm of justice.

From analyzing complex data structures to safeguarding community structures, Pat Philip James O. Caruana has proved that the ultimate upgrade isn't found in a machine—it is found in one's purpose.

For many, a college degree maps out a definitive, lifelong career track. When Caruana walked across the stage as a graduate of the Class of 2023 at Dr. Aurelio Mendoza Memorial Colleges, his credentials pointed toward a future built on screens, data, and technology. He had successfully earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), equipped with the analytical mindset required to navigate the digital world.

Yet, instead of seeking a comfortable tech desk or coding in the private sector, Caruana felt a different kind of calling. He decided to trade the digital firewall for a physical shield, redirecting his skill set from the keyboard to the frontline.

The transition from a tech student to a law enforcer is no easy reboot. It requires rewiring one’s lifestyle, enduring rigorous physical training, and adopting a strict code of ethics.

The discipline paid off. Standing tall in his crisp blue uniform, Caruana officially graduated from the academy, carrying the core tenets emblazoned on his training center's banner: Respect, Integrity, Dignity, and Morality

Caruana's journey highlights a growing trend in modern law enforcement: the integration of highly technical backgrounds into public safety. In an era where policing increasingly relies on cyber awareness, digital intelligence, and structured logic, a background in computer science is not a detour—it is a distinct advantage.

The dedication and perseverance that once solved intricate coding problems have now fueled a successful transformation into a defender of the peace. As his alma mater and his training officers look on with pride, Pat Philip James O. Caruana stands as a striking reminder that the skills we learn in one chapter can perfectly fortify the next.

This year’s race boils down to a stark contrast in leadership flavors, featuring two distinct party lists: Fusion and Serve. With the student body facing vital decisions regarding campus facilities, academic policies, and student welfare, both parties are pitching radically different recipes for success.

Party List Fusion: True to its name, Fusion’s platform hinges on collaboration and integration. Their campaign emphasizes bridging the gap between the administration and the student body, while blending technology with traditional student services. "We aren't just creating policies; we are fusing diverse student needs into a unified voice," their standard-bearer stated during the morning rally.

Party List Serve: Running on a platform of direct action and grassroots advocacy, Serve aims to deliver exactly what their name implies. Their manifesto focuses heavily on accountability, transparent budgeting, and no-nonsense student representation. "Leadership isn't about compromise; it’s about duty. We are here to serve the students, period," countered Serve’s presidential hopeful.
