๐๐๐๐: Marine Environmental Protection Training and Doctrine Institute (MEPTDI) Successfully Conducted a Marine Environmental Protection Seminar for Philippine Navy Personnel.
The Philippine Navy, through the guidance and leadership of the Commander, Installation Management Command, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ together with the initiative of the Director, Directorate for Port and Aerodrome Services, Installation Management Command, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐
๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐, in collaboration with the Philippine Coast Guardโs Marine Environmental Protection Training and Doctrine Institute (MEPTDI), successfully conducted the Marine Pollution Prevention and Management Seminar on 02โ03 September 2026 at Naval Station Pascual Ladesma, Fort San Felipe, Cavite City. The seminar was initiated to strengthen Philippine Navy personnelโs knowledge and awareness of maritime environmental protection, particularly relevant laws and regulations on marine pollution prevention and management. It also aimed to enhance their preparedness in addressing common marine pollution incidents, particularly oil spills. The initiative provided an avenue for the Marine Environmental Protection Command, through MEPTDI, to share its knowledge and expertise with Philippine Navy personnel in support of a more coordinated and informed approach to maritime pollution prevention and management.
The lectures were led by ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ together with ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐, and ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐

๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐, with the activity facilitated by the dedicated personnel of MEPTDI. Through the lectures and discussions, participants gained valuable insights into the applicable maritime environmental laws, the roles and responsibilities of maritime stakeholders, and appropriate measures for preventing, preparing for, and responding to marine pollution incidents.
The successful conduct of the seminar was made possible through the support and guidance of the Commander, Marine Environmental Protection Command, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐, and the Superintendent, Marine Environmental Protection Training and Doctrine Institute, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐. This seminar foster stronger collaboration between the Philippine Navy and the Philippine Coast Guard in advancing marine environmental protection. The initiative reflects the shared commitment of both maritime services to promote continuous learning, strengthen environmental awareness, and develop personnel who are better prepared to address maritime pollution incidents.
Through stronger inter-agency collaboration, continuous education, and shared commitment to maritime environmental protection, the Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard remain committed to equipping their personnel with the knowledge, awareness, and capabilities necessary to prevent, manage, and respond to maritime pollution for the protection of the countryโs marine environment.
