Initao College conducted its 3rd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on September 24, 2026, as part of the institutionโs quarterly earthquake preparedness activities and continuing commitment to the safety and disaster readiness of the College community.
The drill provided students, faculty, and personnel with an opportunity to practice proper emergency procedures and strengthen their readiness in the event of an actual earthquake. It also served as an important exercise in assessing the Collegeโs emergency response protocols, coordination, and preparedness measures.
The activity was made more meaningful through the support and assistance of the local emergency and public safety agencies of the Municipality of Initao, particularly the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Rural Health Unit (RHU), and Initao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Their personnel helped facilitate and assess the drill, provided valuable guidance, and helped evaluate the College communityโs response and preparedness.
Earthquakes can occur without warning, making regular preparedness activities essential to protect lives and reduce risks. Through its quarterly earthquake drills, the institution continues to strengthen a culture of preparedness, awareness, discipline, and collective responsibility among the College community.
