[Formalized Research Partnership]
Cavite State University (CvSU) and Verde Carbon Capture, Inc. (VCCI) officially formalized their collaboration through a Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement Signing held at the CvSU Board Room. The partnership marks a significant milestone for both institutions to advance research and innovation, particularly in addressing methane emissions from rice cultivation systems.
The agreement underscores CvSUโs dedication to fostering research-based solutions to environmental challenges and VCCIโs commitment to supporting initiatives aligned with sustainable and climate-responsive technologies.
The ceremony was attended in person by key CvSU officials led by Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, University President. Joining her were Dr. Venus O. Saz, Project Leader; Assoc. Prof. Ma. Veronica P. Peรฑaflorida, ILCLO Director; Mr. Patrick Lorenze M. Reyes, Study 1 Leader; Ms. Monina Dyan Elumba, Officer-in-Charge of CAFENR; Mr. Yves Roy M. Tibayan, Study 2 Leader and Linkages Coordinator; and Asst. Prof. Guillermo Desenganio, Project Staff.
Representing VCCI virtually were Dr. Takato Senoo, President; Ms. Eileen D. Tolentino, HR Manager; and Mr. Hamsha R. Saz, Country Manager.
The partnership between CvSU and VCCI is expected to enhance scientific understanding of greenhouse gas dynamics in rice ecosystems and support the development of strategies aimed at reducing emissions in Philippine agriculture.

The Department of Biological Sciences took part in the Ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing between Cavite State University and the Agarwood Growers Association of the Philippines, Inc., held on December 4, 2025.
The Agarwood Growers Association of the Philippines, Inc. is a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-registered organization dedicated to supporting agarwood farmers, groups, associations, and cooperatives nationwide through sustainable management and service-oriented initiatives.
The MOU was formally signed by Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, President of Cavite State University, and Mr. Manuelito R. Putong, President of the Agarwood Growers Association of the Philippines, Inc.
The activity was attended by Dr. Lloyd O. Balinado, Chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences, who delivered the introduction of participants; Assoc. Prof. Ma. Veronica P. Peรฑaflorida, Director of the International and Local Collaboration and Linkages Office, who presented the statement of purpose; and Dr. Ammie P. Ferrer, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, who gave the closing remarks. The event was likewise joined by other university officials, faculty members, and representatives from the partner organization.
This partnership opens opportunities for joint research projects and programs, collaborative research, development, and extension activities, and other academic and cultural exchanges mutually agreed upon by both partiesโstrengthening shared efforts in scientific advancement, sustainability, and community engagement.

Cavite State University (CvSU) proudly hosted the Covenant of Understanding Ceremonial Signing with the Philippine-Canada Education Consortium (PhilCanEDUCON) for International Collaborative Partnerships on Innovations for Inclusive Global Engagements at the CvSU Hostel Tropicana.
On behalf of CvSU President Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro, the participants were welcomed by Dr. Almira G. Magcawas, Vice President for Business and Resource Generation; Dr. Cristina M. Signo, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. John Xavier B. Nepomuceno, Vice President for Administrative and Support Services; Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension; and Dr. Mary Jane D. Tepora, Vice President for Planning and Development.
The ceremony was jointly led by Dr. Marlowe U. Aquino, Executive Director of PhilCanEDUCON Infin8, and Dr. Merian Catajay-Mani, President of Romblon State University and Network Chairperson of PhilCan Infin8. As a consortium composed of 21-member higher education institutions (both SUCs and private HEIs) across the Philippines, PhilCan Infin8 continues to strengthen its collaborative network through international partnerships.
Also present were distinguished university presidents including Dr. Gemma G. Acedo, President of Catanduanes State University; Dr. Boyet L. Batang, President of Isabela State University; Dr. Elbert M. Galas, President of Pangasinan State University; and Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, President of the University of Northern Philippines.
Institutional representatives likewise graced the ceremony, such as Dr. Vivian C. Peligro of Agusan del Sur College of Agriculture and Technology; Dr. Raquelyn J. Dadang of Central Mindanao University; Mr. Mer Jun Q. Caรฑas of Davao del Norte State College; Mr. Lilito Gavina of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University; Dr. Analyn C. Espaรฑo of Eastern Visayas State University; Dr. Mee Jay A. Domingo of Mariano Marcos State University; Atty. Dexter C. Lingbanan of Mountain Province State University; Ms. Rosalle A. Dizon of Saint Paul University; and Dr. Connie Aunario of the Technological University of the Philippines.
Mr. Andrew J. Siducon, Linkage Coordinator of the CvSU Graduate School and Open Learning College, served as the moderator during the event.
This undertaking highlighted the unified commitment of these institutions to advance global academic collaboration, promote inclusive education, and cultivate innovative research and development initiatives across borders.

Officials and students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, paid a courtesy visit to University President Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro. The delegation is at the University for SCOPE 2025: Strengthening Cross-Border Opportunities for Partnership in Education, an international student mobility program jointly organized by UiTM, the CvSU College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), and the CvSU International and Local Collaboration and Linkages Office (ILCLO).
The delegation is composed of four engineering students and Senior Faculty members Dr. Naimah Mat Isa and Ts. Dr. Syed Farid Syed Adnan, who will also serve as resource speakers for SCOPE 2025.
Joining President Nuestro in welcoming the delegates were Dr. Willie C. Buclatin, Dean of CEIT; Prof. Ma. Veronica P. Peรฑaflorida, Director of ILCLO; and ILCLO staff.
