The Futures Thinking Week 2026 officially kicks off its four-day celebration with the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Trade Fair and Exhibit, led by University President Dr. Ma. Agnes P. Nuestro and Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, together with keynote speaker Mr. Gabriel A. Arubio, President of the Cavite Magsasaka Siyentista Federation, at the International Convention Center from May 18, 2026.

This year’s 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 highlights the technologies and products developed through research and extension initiatives, as well as high-quality food products from local farmers. The event reinforces its commitment to empowering agricultural communities through improved market access and continuous innovation.
A total of 20 exhibitors from CvSU RDE Centers, campuses, and partner stakeholders are participating in the fair, contributing to a vibrant showcase of local products and innovations. Participating exhibitors include:

Through the participation of researchers, extension practitioners, local producers, and community groups, the exhibit reflects ongoing efforts to connect research and innovation with communities and local industries, while providing a platform for agricultural products and technologies developed across the region.

One of the highlights of the FutuREs Thinking Week celebration is the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, which will take place on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the International Convention Center. The conference aims to assess and evaluate ongoing and completed extension programs and projects and promote products and technologies through a trade fair and exhibit.

We are honored to welcome 𝐌𝐫. 𝐍𝐨𝐞𝐥 𝐀. 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐠, Director, Technology Transfer and Promotion Division, DOST-PCAARRD, as our 𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫, along with distinguished University Research and Extension Council (UREC) reactors, external reactors, Gender and Development auditors, panel of judges for Extension videos, moderators, rapporteurs, and and in-charge of ceremonies.

The Extension Services Center proudly celebrates a remarkable milestone as this year’s 𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐜 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲) in the entire university!

The awarding was held during the Opening Program of FUTURES Thinking Week 2026, with the theme “Striding to ASCEND: Transforming FutuREs through Research, Innovation, and Extension,” held at the International Convention Center.

This recognition became even more meaningful as we continue to promote innovation, sustainability, and transformative community engagement. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued stakeholders, extension project implementers, extension coordinators, faculty members, staff, and students whose continued collaboration, dedication, and passion made this achievement possible.

This honor reflects our collective commitment to advancing sustainable development and creating meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Together, we champion service, sustainability, and excellence. 💚
