Election Fever at Holy Family School

It's Election season at Holy Family School of Indang and the temperature is running high!

At this writing, pupils are amused at the way the Election fever is sweeping across the campus: candidates distributing campaign leaflets, shaking hands with pupils from Grades 1 to 6, even handing over candies to everyone.

This is attributed largely to the school's objective of planting the seeds of leadership and awareness of governance among pupils. The idea is to create awareness of and interest in how things are things are managed from the perspective of pupils. Someday soon, these children will become leaders themselves and it's in the best interest of governance that they are exposed to the election process early in life.

Earlier the pupils had elected their own set of officers at the classroom level. This gave the pupils an opportunity to see and feel how leadership and governance come into play at their level.

Election Day is set for Monday, Oct 16. The pupils will undergo the election process that adults experience on a typical election day (except, of course, the vote buying and violence prevalent in most election hotspots). They will cast their ballots in the designated precincts and witness the canvassing of votes as well as the proclamation of winners.

Dear parents, we're starting your children in leadership and governance this early. With your participation and support at the home front, we hope to be able to make responsible citizens and leaders out of your children. 💚💚💚💛💛💛
