This two-day sports league in volleyball and basketball aims to promote holistic health and well-being among university faculty members and staff through sports activities that strengthen integrity, resilience, positive masculinity, and a strong sense of community while advancing the Universityโs Gender and Development mandate and Men Opposed to Violence against Women advocacy.
Spearheaded by the College of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation in collaboration with the Gender and Development Resource Center, the University Sports Director Office, and the University Health Services Unit, the said event is also part of the post-celebration of International Menโs Day observed annually on November 19 to highlight menโs health, well-being, and their meaningful contributions to families, communities, and institutions.

Cavite State University (CvSU) and Banaba Cerca Integrated School formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on December 5, 2025, marking the beginning of a strong and collaborative partnership between the CvSUโCollege of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (CSPEaR) and Banaba Cerca Integrated School.
The agreement aims to institutionalize the extension project titled โQuality Physical Education and Sports Training for Athletes and Coaches,โ a program designed to empower educators, enhance athletic training, and build a stronger foundation for youth sports development. This initiative underscores both institutionsโ shared commitment to nurturing future athletes and strengthening community-based sports education.
Present during the ceremony were Dr. Giezel V. Cuenco, School Principal; DepEd Division of Indang I officials Dr. Amelita Peรฑalba and Dr. Myra Lyn Bergunio; Dr. Victor Piores, Dean of CSPEaR; Prof. Clark Costa, Director of the University Sport Development Office; and Ms. Paula Gie C. Ducusin, representing the Extension Services Center Director, Dr. Racquel G. Agustin.
The partnership is expected to pave the way for more training programs, workshops, and collaborative activities designed to enhance the quality of sports education and develop future-ready athletes and coaches.

As part of the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreationโs (CSPEAR) extension project in collaboration with University Sports Development Office (USDO), todayโs โCoaching with Purpose: Strengthening Grassroots Sports Through Teacher Empowermentโ orientation seminar brought teachers and coaches together to ignite passion, deepen skills, and build a stronger foundation for youth sports. When educators lead with purpose, our athletes grow with confidence, discipline, and heart.

A total of 138 student athletes and 37 officials represent CvSU in this yearโs STRASUC Olympics with the theme โIsang Puso, Isang Kalaro: Kabataang Atleta ng STRASUC sa Puso ng Pilipinas, Nagkakaisa para sa Bayan at Tagumpay!โ
Hosted by Marinduque State University, the games will be held on November 22-28, 2025 across different venues in the municipalities of Boac, Mogpog, and Sta. Cruz.

Despite the rainy weather, the campaign officially opened with the ๐๐ฎ๐ง ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐, a mini marathon held at University Oval, where university officials, faculty members, employees, and students from different units, offices, colleges, and campuses gathered in solidarity. Their presence reflects the CvSU communityโs unwavering commitment to raising awareness, protecting women, and advocating for a violence-free community.
Aligned with the national movement, the University continues to champion gender equality, strengthen support systems, and uphold the rights and welfare of all women.

International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW) as a key contributor to policies ensuring equality for girls and women conducted its world congress.
The 20th IAPESGW World Congress, held in Cebu City, Philippines, on November 5-7, 2025, brought together global experts to promote gender equality and womenโs empowerment through sports and physical education. Representing Cavite State Universityโs College of Sports Physical Education and Recreation (CSPEAR), Prof. Mary Ann R. Cardines, Prof. Clarisse Ann C. Papa, and Dr. Jazmin P. Cubillo (OIC, CvSU Maragondon) participated in the congress, gaining valuable insights that further support the universityโs vision and mission. The event also fostered international linkages and research collaborations.
Aside from international delegates, present also in the said congress are CSPEAR alumni that are experts in their field and involved in policy making in their respective institutions.

The College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CSPEAR), led by Dean Victor F. Piores, together with College Extension Coordinator Stephen John Cuaresma and Project Coordinators Angelito F. Penales and Jeffrey P. Romera, conducted a consultative meeting with the Banaba Cerca Integrated School (BCIS), headed by Principal Giezel V. Cuenco, Ed.D.
The meeting focused on finalizing the year-round plan of activities aimed at enhancing BCISโs Physical Education and Sports Program and building the capability of teachers serving as sports coaches. This initiative seeks to strengthen coaching competencies, promote active learning, inclusivity, and develop a sustainable culture of sports excellence within the school.
This collaboration marks another meaningful step in CSPEARโs commitment to community engagement, educational excellence and athletic development in the community through sports and physical education.

The College of Sports Physical Education and Recreation with the initiative of Prof. Joel D. Anajao, college research coordinator and with the support of Dr. Victor F. Piores successfully conducted an activity titled โJournal Article Writeshopโ on October 16-17, 2025 at CvSU Bahay ng Alumni. The journal writeshop aims to strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members by enhancing their scholarly writing and publication skills. Specifically, it seeks to guide participants in transforming completed theses and research outputs into publishable journal articles, thereby fostering a culture of research productivity and academic dissemination. Ultimately, the activity aspires to contribute to universityโs goal of increasing faculty publications in reputable academic journals and sustaining an active research community.
Dr. Zandro Catacutan discussed Journal article characteristics and Publication providing clear insights on process and its importance. Presence and support of Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac, Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension ignited the motivation of the attendees to further conduct high quality research and promotes its result utilization.

A big round of applause to the College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CSPEAR) for their successful Proposal Presentation held on September 16, 2025, at the Bahay ng Alumni. The event was organized in collaboration with the Extension Services Center, led by Dr. Victor Piores, Administrator of CSPEAR, and Dr. Racquel G. Agustin, Director of the Extension Services Center.
The program commenced with an opening message delivered by the esteemed Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, Dr. Melbourne R. Talactac. Serving as evaluators were members of the University Research and Extension Council: Engr. Gerry M. Castillo, Director of Planning and Development; Dir. Roderick M. Rupido, Director of Alumni Affairs; and Dr. Racquel G. Agustin, Director of the Extension Services Center.
Two proposals from CSPEAR were presented, alongside one from CEMDS. The faculty and staff of CSPEAR were also in attendance as honored participants.
