ICYMI: CAS faculty members signed their oath of office earlier today at the Mass Oath-Taking Ceremony of Newly Hired and Promoted Academic and Non-Academic Employees.

Themed "ASCEND: Rising to Greater Heights in Service and Excellence," the activity was organized by the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) to recognize the appointment, promotion, and assumption of duties of employees who were newly hired or promoted during calendar years 2025 and 2026.

𝐂𝐀𝐒 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬

Three students from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) placed second in the quiz bee elimination round during CALABARZON's VOYAGE (Voice of Young ASEAN Global Engagement) 2026 on August 24.

Representing the University were Aleah Mae Tulauan, a BA Journalism student, and Euan James Dequiña and Jan Lorraine Carlet, both BA Political Science students. Mrs. Johanna Joyce Leoperme-Monleon, a faculty member from the Department of Social Sciences (DSS), served as their coach.

The team will compete in the final round on September 1 at St. Dominic College of Asia.

As part of their annual cultural exchange program, students and former professors from Nihon University, together with officials from Shoreline Kabalikat sa Kaunlaran Inc. (SKKI), visited the Cavite State University (CvSU) Department of Social Sciences (DSS), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).

Nihon University Social Work students presented good social work practices in Japan, while Prof. Merlie C. Nahilat, BS Social Work Program Coordinator, shared best practices of CvSU's Social Work Program.

The activity was also attended by Prof. Renato T. Agdalpen, Chairperson of Department of Social Sciences (DSS), Mr. Jin Inoue, former Nihon University Professor, and Ms. Remedios Baclean-an, SKKI President.

The exchange provided an opportunity for both institutions to share knowledge, experiences, and effective social work practices, strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between Japan and CvSU.

CAS Check ✅

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) underwent Internal Quality Audit (IQA) and 5S Audit on 12 August, in support of the University's commitment to continuous institutional improvement and quality education.

The audits evaluated some key areas, including quality forms and policies, process flows, customer satisfaction, facilities and equipment, and workplace orderliness.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to our lead IQA auditors, Dr. Lauro B. Pascua, Mr. Marvin M. Onsana, Mr. Allen John C. Muyot, and Mr. Juvie B. Abad, as well as the 5S Audit Team, composed of Mr. Ryan Angelo G. Mojica and Mr. Ryan S. Acojedo, for their thorough assessment and guidance.

If you have the time to spare this August 18, 12:00–1:00 PM, we invite you to join us in prayer, wherever you may be, as we pray for the successful journey of our kapwa Alumni ng Sikolohiya who will be taking the 2026 Licensure Examinations for Psychologists and Psychometricians.

No need to come to a specific place or join an online meeting. Simply take a moment within the hour to pause and offer a prayer for our fellow alumni.

Let us pray for wisdom, strength, courage, and peace as they face this important milestone. May we also pray that we become instruments in God’s plan, using the knowledge and skills we have gained to serve those who are in need.

𝐂𝐀𝐒 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫

The faculty and staff of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) convened for a faculty orientation and capability enhancement seminar on Thursday, 13 August, to continue delivering quality instruction, research, innovation, and extension services to their stakeholders.

With the theme "Empowering Educators to Lead with Truth and Integrity, Strive for Excellence, and Serve with Purpose," the activity served as a forum for exchanging best practices and learning experiences across areas such as syllabus preparation, gender-responsive curriculum, outcomes-based instruction, management of learning, and emotional first aid for students.

While the semester offers new opportunities and challenges, CAS commits to embodying its roles as 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 from this day forward.
