Launching of School Reading Program and MOA Signing of BEW Partnership.

Reading is the foundation of all learning - it open doors to knowledge,builds imagination,and shapes young minds to become productive citizens.Today marks another milestone of Inawayan Elementary School as we officially launch our Reading Program , together with the formal signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with our valued partner BEW.
This program aims to help every child read well , understand better,and love reading.We thank our volunteered parents, teachers and BEW for this support - providing materials and help to make the initiative successful.

Launching of Project W.A.T.C.H.

Last July 13, 2026, Inawayan Elementary School proudly launched Project W.A.T.C.H. (We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty) to strengthen the values of punctuality, discipline, integrity, and accountability among learners and school personnel. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing responsible individuals who value time and practice honesty in their daily lives.

Our School Head Dr. Minda Pretila, Principal III gave meaningful reminders on the value of punctuality and Honesty in school as well as in the community.
Also, Maam Anafel Aguan Camposo Teacher III, our School Project WATCH coordinator presented the purpose and significance of launching the Project WATCH in our school.

Together, we continue to build a school culture where every minute counts and every act of integrity makes a difference.

Inawayan Elementary School Joins Nationwide Earthquake Drill Led by Sta. Cruz MDRRMC

June 23, 2026 — The Inawayan Elementary School participated in the National Earthquake Drill earlier today, spearheaded by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Sta. Cruz. The activity was headed by Ma'am Ellan Manto, MDRRMC head, together with the members of the BDRRMC led by Brgy. Captain, Hon. Danilo A. Baquial, Inawayan Group of Responders (IGRA) team of which proper coordinations were made possible by the School DRRM Coordinator, Sir Rodel R. Namoco.

Teachers, staff, pupils and parents who were present practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” protocol to reinforce earthquake preparedness and safety awareness inside classrooms. The drill tested the school’s emergency response plan, from alarm to orderly evacuation and headcount at the designated safe area.

Ma'am Ellan Manto and the rest of the team guided the participants throughout the exercise, ensuring proper procedures were followed, providing results of the evaluation and post-drill reminders on disaster readiness. The MDRRMC emphasized that regular drills like this help build a culture of preparedness and reduce risks during actual emergencies.

Inawayan ES administration thanked the Sta. Cruz MDRRMC, BDRRMC and IGRA team for their support in keeping the school community safe and well-trained.

Inawayan Elementary School proudly participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on June 18, 2026.

Through this activity, our learners, parents, teachers and staff strengthened their preparedness and awareness on proper earthquake safety procedures.

Together, we build a safer, more resilient and disaster-ready school community.

We still continue to elevate best practices on what to do during and after the earthquake to lessen possible casualties.

🌼REFRESHING THE LOOK OF THE DAVAO DEL SUR’S SHOW WINDOW🌼

Inspired by the dynamic leadership of the District Supervisor of Santa Cruz North, Ma’am Hazel V. Luna, Ph.D., the teachers of Inawayan Elementary School embraced the challenge of refining and enhancing their classrooms, transforming them into pleasant, welcoming, and learner-friendly spaces worthy of being part of the show window of Davao del Sur.

This initiative allowed teachers to showcase their creativity and talent in beautifying not only their classrooms but also the school surroundings. Using mostly recycled materials, they created inspiring and welcoming learning spaces that foster a positive environment and make learners feel at home.

With the continuous support of the LGU, classrooms were evaluated based on cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance. Winners were determined through ranking and officially announced by the Public Schools District Supervisor Ma’am Hazel V. Luna, Ph.D., the program's initiator.
