๐Ÿ“ข FTBIS Joins the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill 2026

In adherence to Memorandum No. 7, s. 2026 of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and Division Memorandum No. 125, s. 2026 of the Schools Division of Imus City, the teachers and learners of Francisca Tirona Benitez Integrated School (FTBIS) actively took part in the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED).

The Officer-in-Charge, Dr. Melanie A. Magat, Master Teacher I promptly informed and guided the learners regarding their participation and the essential procedures they must understand during an earthquake. She highlighted the importance of knowing the correct steps:

Duck โ€“ lower the body immediately,
Cover โ€“ protect the head and neck using the arms,
Hold โ€“ firmly hold on to a sturdy object such as the leg of a table.

She also reminded everyone about the safe evacuation routes and the designated assembly area where they must gather once they hear the sharp sound of the alarm.

Meanwhile, the learners were able to exit their classrooms quickly yet orderly with their teachers, following the designated directional lines painted on the floors. Within a few minutes, everyone had safely gathered at the assigned assembly area.

Class advisers checked their students to ensure that all were complete and safe. Afterward, the Officer-in-Charge gave a brief message emphasizing that unity and preparedness are key to overcoming any disaster. She concluded by encouraging everyone to share the importance of this drill with their families.

The NSED ended with a strong sense of confidence knowing that our learners and our school are better prepared should a real earthquake occur.
