Designing the Future, One Graduate at a Time
It was a joyful morning as 95 grade school students received their graduation certificates from the 3rd Canva Summer Training, held at the New Provincial Capitol Building in Trece Martires City, Cavite, hosted by KKids of Kanggahan Elementary School.
What began three years ago as an initiative by the Kiwanis Club of Trece Martires Tender Heart has grown into something far more significant than a summer program. It has become a proven platform for child skills development, one that equips young learners with digital literacy, visual communication, and the kind of creative confidence that will serve them long after the summer ends.
Guest speakers District Governor-Elect Atty. Aleta Tolentino and Board Member & Kiwanian Camille del Rosario graced the graduation with their presence, lending the celebration the weight and meaning it truly deserved. Both distinguished guests also served as judges for the Best Canva Design Competition, where young participants submitted original works. The winning piece, an environmental awareness design by Samarah Sumer Nicole Rodriguez stood out that later will painted into a community mural.
DGE Atty. Aleta Tolentino arrived intending to inspire the students with her words and her experience. Instead, she found herself moved by theirs. Standing before the young graduates who had spent their summer learning to translate ideas into visual art, she admitted openly that it was their creativity that inspired her. It was a moment of extraordinary grace, a senior leader pausing to genuinely receive something from children, and in doing so, honoring the truth that Kiwanis has always believed: that young people are not simply the recipients of service but the source of it.
