𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗜 𝗦𝗔 𝗟𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗜 𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗔𝗡!

On this day 122 years ago, the civil service system in the Philippines was formally established with the enactment of Public Law No. 5 ("An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Islands") by the Second Philippine Commission.

A three-member Civil Service Board was created, composed of a Chairman, a Secretary, and a Chief Examiner. The Board was tasked to prepare rules to establish an efficient and honest civil service in all branches of the government "by appointments and promotions according to merit and by competitive examinations where the same are practicable."

Every September, the entire civil service commemorates this significant moment in history through the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (or Civil Service Month). Through the years, the PCSA has served as a fitting occasion for the nation to celebrate the contributions of civil servants to society, and for civil servants, to reaffirm their commitment to public trust.

In 2007, the Ombudsman Regional Office VI created and launched the "Mag e-mail sa Ombudsman" and "iTxt OMB" Projects to better serve the people of Western Visayas and the general public. For almost a decade now, these projects (email and text hotline) has helped the Office reach out and render immediate public assistance to its stakeholders.

In 2014, an official facebook account was created to inform the public about the Good Governance and Corruption Prevention Programs of the Office of the Ombudsman which were implemented in Region VI.

Today, a new official email address ([email protected]) is provided to the public where they can now send their queries, reports, requests for assistance and other concerns for appropriate action of the Ombudsman Regional Office VI.

With the use of the new technology, the services of the Office of the Ombudsman was made available to the public right at their finger tips.

READ | The application period for the 7 August 2022 Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Subprofessional Levels, as well as the Intermediate Competency on Local Treasury Examination (ICLTE), will be on 2 to 16 June 2022.
