As future physicians of West Visayas State University, Batch VEVICI stands in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community in celebrating Pride Month.

In medicine, we are taught to listen to the heartbeat before we make a diagnosis. We are trained to look at the human being in front of us with absolute clarity and compassion. To us, Pride is not just a celebration of diverse identities; it is a fundamental reminder of our oath to heal without prejudice, to listen without judgment, and to advocate for those whose voices have been historically silenced.

True healthcare cannot exist without inclusivity.
As Batch VEVICI, we recognize that our duty extends beyond the walls of the clinic and the pages of our textbooks. It lives in our commitment to breaking down systemic barriers, tackling health disparities, and ensuring that every patient—regardless of who they are or who they love—receives the dignified, safe, and affirming care they deserve.

After a year of lectures, exams, practical exams, SGDs, transes, sleepless nights, and everything in between, Batch VEVICI is finally taking a well-deserved pause. For now, it’s time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the summer before we return to Roxas Hall for the next academic year.

May this break bring us peace, good memories, exciting ganaps, and enough recharged energy to survive another year of med life.

Still, your 𝚖𝚞𝚜𝚌𝚕𝚎 𝚐𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚘𝚕𝚒𝚍 𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠𝚕𝚎𝚍𝚐𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚞𝚜𝚌𝚞𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚔𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚊𝚕 𝚜𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚖 clearly make up for any follicular “reductions” 😮‍💨

* Your biceps remains well-conditioned 💪 unlike your follicular endurance
* Your olfactory epithelium still maintains its capacity for odorant detection. So yes, you can still appreciate all scent collections 👌

From a functional standpoint, you continue to demonstrate excellent friend biomechanics ~ proper spinal alignment in life decisions, joint support for everyone around you, and great load-bearing emotional capacity ✨
