Due to the unavailability of several large power plants in the Visayas (TVI 1, PEDC 3 and KSPC 2) and limited power import from Mindanao, the Visayas Grid is experiencing a significant reduction in available power generation capacity.
In view of these grid conditions, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) may require the implementation of Manual Load Dropping (MLD) to help maintain the stability and reliability of the Visayas Grid.
Should NGCP require load reduction, MLD may be implemented TOMORROW, SEPTEMBER 24, 2026, in accordance with the load reduction allocation and instructions provided by NGCP.
