💧 As one of its initiatives, the Biological Sciences Department officially launched “𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗭𝗔: 𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬-𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗, 𝗕𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦-𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘𝗧𝗬” this April 16 at Barangay Tanza Timawa Zone II.

The said activity brought together members of the said barangay, including their barangay officials and local residents, aiming to establish water safety and sustainability in their area.

During the program, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed between the university and the barangay. CAS Dean Dr. Bonna Palma and WVSU BioSci Department Chair Dr. Jeannemar Genevieve Yap-Figueras emphasized the importance of community involvement in achieving their long-term goals.

This also served as the community immersion for BS Biology 4-A students who conducted surveys, assessing the current water situation of the community.

Edcharles John R. Baylon, MSc., a member of the said department, was the one who spearheaded the project. In his closing remarks, he assured the residents that Waterguard Tanza will be a long-term commitment.
