The Forensic League has recently concluded the first part of it's two-fold event; 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼.1: 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄.

The event was a mixture of both fun and knowledge as the participants got to navigate the intricate nooks and crannies of the Oxford-Oregon debate format while engaging in fun and interactive activities during breaks!

The League would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to every participant who stayed the course and contributed to the vibrant atmosphere.

We eagerly await your presence in the second part of this event: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿, where the knowledge you have gained from the first part shall be tested.

In the spirit of reason and discourse, the Forensic League cordially invites everyone committed to the art of argumentation to participate in a 2-Part Oxford-Oregon Debate Workshop entitled 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗢. 𝟭: 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗪.

The first part will begin with an 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 on 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, where participants will explore the fundamentals and structure of the Oxford-Oregon debate. This session will equip you with the tools to refine your reasoning and elevate your persuasive delivery.

The second part will culminate on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, as participants take the floor at the 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 in Quezon Hall for a live debate match.

Tribu Adlaw of the College of Arts and Sciences composed of Political Science students and proud members of the Forensic League were called to victory in the finals round of the University Days 2026: Banggianay, prevailing against Tribu Haliya of the College of Nursing in an keenly contested exchange of arguments.

𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹

During the finals, the debaters explored the legalities and technicalities of the proposition: “Let it be resolved that the 2023 ruling of the WVSU Student Court interpreting the provision on term limits be reversed and set aside,”. Tribu Adlaw showed their mastery of argumentation and debate through anchoring their arguments towards legal interpretation. During the interpellation round, they questioned Tribu Haliya's insistence on maintaining the status quo, stressing that correcting an erroneous ruling is an affirmation of democratic choice.

Tribu Adlaw's closing rebuttal framed the debate as a choice between tradition and a democracy responsive to students. The debaters showed that is it was the sun that truly mastered the podium of argumentation and debate. Behind the debaters was a research team whose careful preparation solid groundwork reinforced the case and helped secure the team's success.

The Forensic League congratulates our debaters and researchers for their outstanding performance. Well done!

Teams 1 & 2 have shown exceptional talent and skill in the field of debate, which led to their victory and demonstrated superiority in argumentation and competitive discourse.

The Forensic League successfully conducted two Oxford–Oregon debates under the subject 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 on November 13, 2025, and December 1, 2025.

The debates featured students from the 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 and 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 tackling propositions that revolved around beauty pageants, women, and society—lights topics that can give beginners a kick-start in the world of debate.

The Forensic League commends all participants for their intellectual rigor and exemplary engagement, making a successful and memorable debate series.

Last Friday, November 14, the students of 𝗔𝗕 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 2-𝗔 (𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘂𝘀) bravely took on an exchange of wits and eloquence. With topics ranging from international relations to local governance, each team exhibited their meticulous preparation and growing mastery of argumentation.

We, the Forensic League, are proud to witness this feat. 𝗧𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗲 and 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘂𝘀 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙩. 🐦‍🔥❤️‍🔥

𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘-𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦: 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗪𝗩𝗦𝗨 𝗗𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗢𝗡 2025! 🏆🔥

𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗩𝗦𝗨 once again reigned supreme as the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the 2025 𝗠𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝗻: 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, marking their 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 and bringing home the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗰 𝗢𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆! With well-rounded arguments and remarkable teamwork, the debate team stood as the strongest voice in this year's grand finals.

Adding even more brilliance to this triumph, 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗼 was recognized as 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 in the Semi-Finals and once again as 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 in the Championship Round, while 𝗚𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘂 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘆 earned the title of 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 in the Finals for her sharp reasoning and eloquence.

Together with 𝗝𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻, and 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗮, 𝗘𝗝 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗮ñ𝗼, and under the guidance of their debate mentor 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼, Team WVSU continues to embody excellence in discourse. ❤️‍🔥🎤
