‎The Office of Instruction of West Visayas State University was honored to welcome the benchmarking delegation from Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) on July 23, 2026, led by Dr. Gilda E. Deguma, Vice President for Academic Affairs, together with the members of the NISU Benchmarking Team. The visit served as a valuable platform for the exchange of best practices in curriculum and instruction operations, particularly in the areas of Instructional Materials and Curriculum Review.

‎The benchmarking activity was enriched by the insightful discussions of Dr. Ma. Asuncion Christine V. Dequilla, WVSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Alona M. Belarga, Director of Instruction and Concurrent Director of the Quality Assurance Office. Their expertise and extensive experience in academic governance, quality assurance, and instructional excellence provided meaningful learning opportunities and fostered productive discussions that strengthened collaboration between the two institutions.

‎Through this collaborative engagement, WVSU and NISU reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing quality education, promoting innovation, and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.

‎The Office of Instruction successfully underwent its Internal Quality Audit on July 21, 2026, where the office's commendable services and steadfast commitment to quality were recognized. The audit highlighted the Office's adherence to quality standards and its continued pursuit of excellence in delivering instructional support services.

‎The audit was conducted by Dr. Baby Rose G. Robles and Prof. Ayesha C. Penuela, whose thorough evaluation and valuable recommendations will further strengthen the Office's initiatives and support its commitment to continuous quality improvement.

‎This achievement reflects the exemplary leadership of Dr. Alona M. Belarga, Director of Instruction, together with the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of the Office of Instruction staff. Their collective efforts continue to uphold a culture of quality and excellence in advancing the University's academic mission.

The Office of Instruction conducted a Faculty Loading Workshop for the First Semester, Academic Year 2026–2027 on July 8, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the University Library – Reference Room.

The activity formally opened with an inspiring remarks from Dr. Ma. Asuncion Christine Dequilla, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the University's commitment to academic excellence, collaboration, and effective planning for the upcoming semester.

This was followed by a discussion on the duties and responsibilities of Department Chairs, facilitated by Dr. Alona M. Belarga, Director of Instruction, about the vital role of the Department Chairs in ensuring efficient program implementation and faculty loading. Participants also took part in a session on the computation of grades, aligned with institutional policies in grading students.

The workshop concluded with the collaborative preparation and finalization of faculty loading assignments for the First Semester of AY 2026–2027.

The Office of Instruction warmly congratulates its two dedicated student assistants for graduating with flying colors!

Congratulations to Riza Mae Roquero, who earned the distinction of Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics, and to Margie Antonino, who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Special Needs Education with Specialization in Elementary School Teaching and was recognized as one of the Most Outstanding Student Assistants of West Visayas State University.
