Title: First Step towards Senior High

Education is one of the most precious things that our world has. This is the investment of the students for a better future that lies ahead. Next year will be the first implementation of the Senior High School in the Philippines. The Department of Education is now preparing the needed materials, buildings and number of teachers for the Senior High School. They have been assessing the schools for the construction of the buildings and also the number of teachers they will have for the new departments.
According to the “chance” interview to the two officials coming from the Department of Education, Division of Iloilo namely Ms. Ruby Therese Palmaira, Education Program Supervisor 1-English and Dr. Reynaldo G. Gico, Ph. D., CESO VI, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent, some of the qualifications of teachers to teach in Senior High are; being a master’s degree holder, to have a full grasp of the subject you are teaching and a National Certificate from TESDA. They created these qualifications for the teachers to ensure that all of them can deliver their lesson remarkably to the extent that the students can easily digest the lesson. They also created the Academic and TVL Tracks to help facilitate in the learning of the students.

Title: Changing Systems

Grading system is the reflection of the students learning's. The First grading of System that was applied in K to 12 Curriculum is KPUP which means K for Knowledge, P for Process and Skills, U for Understanding and the Last P stands for Performance Task.
The old system of finding grades are now been replaced to another new set of grading system in the K to 12curriculum.The implementation of the new grading system, WW, PT and QA. In the words, it is called Written Work, Performance Tasks, and Quarterly Assessment. This Curriculum uses a standards-and-competency-based grading system. All grades will be based on the weighted raw score of the learners’ summative assessments.
According Ms. Ruby Therese Palmaira, Education Supervisor 1 “ Grades are just manifestation of your development and performance.” They want us to focus on how we apply our learning's in a real life situation. Mr. Reynaldo G. Gico,Ph. D, CESO VI, Asst. Schools Superintendent stated that” When the curriculum changes the assessment system also changes”. This means one we must not focus in making our grades high but we must internalize the things that our teachers teaches us to be able apply this knowledge in our life.

Title: Igniting Hearts

Have you started your logbook? Have you attended the meeting? Are you tired? Maybe you must sleep. Mom will finish it for you. How’s project? Is it going smoothly?
These are the questions that are always asked to Trisha Faye Araola, a girl scout and an SSC student. Despite her tight schedule of being a student, this has never been a hindrance to help other people. Armored with flaming desire and blazing passion, she made her decision to be a candidate for the Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme.
Senior Girl Scout Araola have encountered many challenges in her voyage in being a candidate of Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme. Time management, public speaking, and socializing with people she barely know but this challenges doesn’t stop her for reaching her goal to become a medalist. Her determination and perseverance had been her motivation to reach her dreams and aspirations in life.
With the help of her troop leader and the cooperation of her work group, they conducted a mangrove tree planting at Dangulaan, Anilao, Iloilo as her project.The main beneficiaries of her project is the community where the project is situated.
All her hard work and sacrifices has been awarded last November 18, 2014, Senior Girl Scout Trisha Faye Araola, an alumni of Anilao National High School with her mother Mrs. Analisa A. Araola and her troop leader Tita Michelle Tarroja went to the PICC Pasay City to receive the award of being a Chief Girl Scout Medalist. This is the highest award given by the Girl Scouts of the Philippines for those aspiring girl scouts.
With her experiences and achievements she has ignited the hearts of many girl scouts to be one of the Chief Girl Scout Medalists

Title :Modern Day Journalist

"Journalism without a moral position is impossible. Every journalist is a moralist. Its absolutely unavoidable." A quote in which it describes that a person can always be a journalist in terms of its character or morality. A journalist in heart and mind as an individual.

Journalism is an activity of writing or editing news and story for newspapers or magazines. As a student, you can be a journalist in many different ways in terms of writing and critical thinking abilities. Journalist can be a sports writer, editorial writer, broadcaster, photojournalist, feature writer and many more.

Now that we are a 21st century learner, computer and technologies as of today is not just wants of the people but also the needs of the people in their everyday life. Even in the journalism trainings, they had also made technologies applicable in the learning process of the journalist.

Journalism deals about knowledge, hard work and perseverance in being a good and outstanding journalist of this institution. Being a journalist you have to keep in mind your potential of making a good stories or news or think of an inspiration to give you thoughts on making this kind of stories.Conducting this kind of training help many journalist to deepen their ideas.

Title : Reigning K-12

Children of this generation are involved in the world of technology. They use gadgets and even social media sites to be aware of whats happening around them. In this generation, children needs to be globally competitive in order for them to face the bitter sweet reality.We all know that change is the only constant thing in the world. This change can be for the better or for the worst. Now the modern education has risen to govern the youth’s life for next generations.
The K to 12 curriculum is the new face of the Philippine education comprising kindergarten and 12 years of basic education which aims to produce and develop globally competitive and lifelong learners. This new curriculum is the new strategic measure of the Department of Education to mold, enhance and nurture the capability of each student to be equipped for a lifetime expedition. This will be the stepping stone in reaching their ambitions and all the knowledge they can acquire could be applied in a real life situation.
This curriculum do not only affect the students but also the teachers. This is a collaboration of modernize technology and well-trained teachers for a better kind of teaching.
