Protecting Sight Through Awareness 👁️

During one of our Rotary Club of Iloilo meetings, Dr. Alex Sangrador shared an informative presentation in observance of Sight Saving Month, focusing on common eye diseases, misconceptions, and the importance of early
detection.

He discussed conditions such as cataract, refractive errors, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and red eye, while also correcting common myths that may delay proper consultation and treatment.

One important reminder from the session: blurred vision is a symptom, not a diagnosis, and early eye examination can help identify treatable conditions and prevent avoidable visual impairment.

Thank you, Dr. Alex, for sharing your expertise and helping us better understand how awareness and timely care can help protect our vision.

Empowering Skills, Creating Opportunities 💚

The Rotary Club of Iloilo, in partnership with Colegio de San Jose, supported the Sewing Skills Training and Food Processing Training held on September 6, 2026.

With the theme “Learn Today, Earn Tomorrow,” participants gained practical skills in tote bag making and food processing, including tocino, siomai, and embutido—skills that can help create livelihood opportunities and build confidence for the future.

We thank Colegio de San Jose and the Zonta Club of Iloilo City for joining us in this meaningful initiative.

Together, we continue to empower communities through skills, education, and opportunity.
