St. James' Catholic High School, Inc. proudly held the Induction Ceremony of the Faculty and Staff, Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Homeroom and Club Officers, and Parents–Teachers Association (PTA) Officers for School Year 2026–2027.

The ceremony marked the formal acceptance of their responsibilities as servant leaders committed to working together for the growth and well-being of the Jamesian community. As they took their oath of office, they pledged to lead with integrity, humility, and dedication while upholding the values of Christ-Centeredness, Filiation and Fraternity, Trust, Discernment, Love for Mary, Love for the Poor, Care for Nature, and Justice.

May God continue to bless and guide all our leaders as they serve with faith, compassion, and excellence, becoming instruments of hope and unity in our school community.

St. James' Catholic High School, Inc. proudly joins in celebrating the successful conduct of the District Training-Workshop in Journalism 2026 held at the Maasin Municipal Building, Liga Hall, on July 11, 2026.

Our sincere gratitude goes to all the trainers for generously sharing time, expertise, and valuable insights in honing the skills of the aspiring and future Jamesian Gazette journalists.

This meaningful learning experience strengthened not only the participants’ skills in writing and broadcasting but also the school's core values that guide every Jamesian in becoming a responsible and compassionate communicator. The workshop emphasized the importance of truthfulness, discipline, respect, teamwork, responsibility, and service to others—values that are essential in the practice of ethical journalism.

As members and aspiring Jamesian Gazette journalists, the participants were reminded to use their talents with integrity and Christ-centeredness, to uphold filiation and fraternity through collaborative work, and to become voices that promote justice, compassion, and the common good.

May this training continue to inspire the participants to develop their gifts and use the power of words in spreading truth, hope, and positive change within the SJCHS community and beyond.

St. James' Catholic High School, Inc. gathered as one community in the celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit. This meaningful Eucharistic celebration marked the beginning of our school year as we humbly invoked the guidance, wisdom, strength, and blessings of the Holy Spirit upon our students, F.I. sisters, faculty and staff.

May the Holy Spirit continue to enlighten our minds, strengthen our hearts, and inspire us to live out our school’s values of faith, service, and excellence.

As per the official Public Advisory issued by the Municipality of Maasin due to the continuous effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), face-to-face classes in all levels are suspended tomorrow, Monday, July 13, 2026.

Please take note of the following academic adjustments:
📚 Asynchronous Learning Activity: To ensure continuity of learning while keeping everyone safe at home, classes will shift to an asynchronous modality tomorrow. Please check your respective section's Group Chat (GC) for instructions and tasks from your teachers.

📝 Examination Update: The scheduled Term 1 Summative Test 1 for tomorrow is postponed. It will resume once regular face-to-face classes safely resume.

Theme: “The Bible Enthroned: Forming Children of God, Building a Community of Fraternity”

As part of our commitment to nurturing faith and Catholic values, the St. James’ Catholic High School, Inc. community gathered for the Bible Enthronement Ceremony, a meaningful celebration that recognizes the Holy Bible as the living Word of God and the foundation of our lives as disciples of Christ.

Through prayer, the proclamation of the Gospel, intercessions, and the enthronement procession, we renewed our commitment to listen to God's Word, reflect on its teachings, and put them into action in our daily lives. By placing the Holy Bible at the center of our classroom altar, we affirm that Christ remains at the heart of our learning, relationships, and community life.

Following the Bible Enthronement, our students participated in their first BEC-REAP Sharing, where they gathered in small faith communities to reflect on God's Word, share personal experiences, and deepen their understanding of Christian values. Through prayerful reflection and dialogue, they strengthened their faith, fostered meaningful connections, and embraced the spirit of fraternity that unites us as one Jamesian family.

May God's Word continue to be a lamp for our feet and a light for our path, guiding us as we grow as faithful children of God and build a community rooted in faith, love, respect, and fraternity.

A week ago, we officially opened School Year 2026–2027 through our Students’ Orientation and Opening Block, welcoming our Jamesian learners with faith, hope, and enthusiasm for the journey ahead.

Guided by the theme “Welcomed by Grace, United in Filiation and Fraternity,” students participated in various activities designed to foster personal growth, strengthen relationships, and deepen their understanding of the school’s values and culture. Through assemblies, classroom community-building sessions, socio-emotional learning activities, discussions on school policies and expectations, club orientations, anti-bullying advocacy, subject orientations, NSED, our learners were equipped to begin the academic year with confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of belonging. We were also blessed to gather with parents and guardians during the PTA General Assembly and Orientation, strengthening the partnership between home and school in supporting the holistic development of our learners.

As we look back on these memorable moments, we thank God for His guidance and blessings as we continue our journey together as one Jamesian family. 💚💙
