Ngayong “Araw ng mga Bayani,” binabalik-tanaw natin ang mga taong tumutulong upang makatayo ang ating bansa sa sarili nitong mga paa—ang mga taong piniling magsakripisyo at maghirap nang sa gayon ay maipagtanggol nila ang kanilang bayan, isang sakripisyong higit pa sa kanilang tungkulin.

Hindi lamang sila ang ating binibigyang-halaga ngayong araw, kundi pati na rin ang mga taong tumutulong sa pag-unlad ng ating bansa ngayon: ang mga tapat na opisyal ng gobyerno, mga doktor, pulis, bombero, at kahit ang mga naglilinis ng mga lansangan.

Ang lahat ng dugo’t pawis na ibinubuhos nila sa kani-kanilang larangan ng trabaho, maliit man o malaki ang kanilang ginagampanang tungkulin ay nakatutulong sa pagsulong ng ating bansa.

Nawa’y ang kanilang pagsisikap ay pumukaw sa atin upang mag-aral nang mabuti, maging masipag, at laging maging matulungin. Hindi lamang para sa sariling kinabukasan, kundi para na rin sa kinabukasan ng bansang ating kinabibilangan bilang mga kabataan.

Today, August 21, we commemorate Ninoy Aquino Day and honor the life and legacy of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. His courage and love for the Filipino people continue to inspire us today. His story reminds us that even in difficult times, hope and love for one’s country can inspire change.

As we remember Ninoy, may we reflect on the importance of courage and unity. May his legacy remind us to value the freedom we have today and to do our part in building a better future for our country. The Philippines is not only shaped by the sacrifices of those who came before us, but also by the choices we make today.

May we continue to remember those who sacrificed for the Philippines and carry their hope for a stronger, freer, and more united nation. 🇵🇭

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗘𝘀𝗸𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝗠𝗘𝗦; 𝗩𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘄𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

Last June 3, 2026, the Ateneo de Iloilo–Senior High Student Council of S.Y. 2025-2026, together with student volunteers, contributed to this year’s Brigada Eskwela at Jalandoni Memorial Elementary School.

One of the activities during the project was the launch of a garden initiative, beginning with the planting of seeds during Brigada Eskwela. Our student volunteers helped clean, organize, and prepare the school garden, planting seeds that would eventually grow into crops such as okra, saluyot or jute leaves, pole sitao, and more.

Months later, these seeds have grown into healthy plants. The students and teachers of Jalandoni have now harvested the first batch of these vegetables, which they used to prepare laswa and enjoyed together as a meal.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ma’am Jobail, Ma’am Che, and Ma’am CJ, the kindergarten teachers of Jalandoni, as well as the students and parents who helped harvest, prepare, and cook the meal.

We also thank our student volunteers for their efforts in starting the garden. What began as a simple act of service during Brigada Eskwela has grown into a meaningful and sustainable
source of food and nutrients for the students—one that the school can continue to care for and maintain.

This harvest is a reminder that meaningful contributions do not always have to be grand. May we continue to live out the call of Laudato Si’ by caring for our common home and nurturing initiatives that create lasting impact. May this garden inspire us to remain committed to serving our community and contributing more for those we serve, today and beyond.

From acting out words 🎭 to putting their telepathic connection 📞 and rhythm 🎶 to the test with the newly shifted Grade 11 batch, 12-Gravitas transformed simple interactions into meaningful moments that will go beyond the festival. 🎡

What began as a simple bucket list unfolded into lasting bonds that captured the spirit of ADIChella—one challenge, one conversation, and one shared smile at a time.

The bucket list may be complete, but the festivities are only getting started. See you tomorrow as ADIchella takes center stage! ☀️
