๐ง๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ฑ๐ผ๐๐ป ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ป!
We're thrilled to welcome the students of Senior High School as they land in Japan for their Japan Cultural Immersion Program!
Over the next 5 days, we'll be guiding them through a carefully curated journey of cultural exposure, hands-on learning, and meaningful connection โ the kind of intercultural experience that shapes how young Filipinos see the world, and their place in it.
This is what a guided journey looks like from day one: safe arrival, warm welcome, and a program designed every step of the way with our partner school. Follow along as we take you through the week with !

From July 18 to August 14, 2026, NPO RES is launching the Kizuna Donation Drive โ a community effort to extend love and support to fostered children, IP communities, and children with special needs. You can be part of this by donating any of the items listed below.
What seems ordinary to you could bring comfort, dignity, and joy to a child who needs it most. Your generosity has the power to uplift lives and strengthen the bonds that connect us all.
Together, let us turn compassion into action and make a lasting difference.

Over the past week, we've walked you through each day of the program โ the zoo mornings, the ceramics painting, the homestays, the school visits, the goodbyes at the airport. Today, we're bringing it all together in one recap video that captures the heart of the journey our students just experienced.
This program was never just about the sights. It was about Filipino students learning to navigate a new culture with confidence, building real friendships with their Japanese peers, and coming home with a wider view of the world โ and of themselves.
To our students: you represented your schools and your country beautifully. To the families, partner schools, and homestay hosts who made this possible: thank you for being part of their story.
Watch the recap below, and if you know a student who'd thrive on a journey like this one, send them our way โ the next ConnectEd intake is closer than you think.

Day 5 was what the whole program is built around: a full-day exchange visit to ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น. Our students were welcomed onto campus, joined activities, and spent meaningful time with their Japanese peers throughout the day.
By afternoon, the structure gave way to something even better โ free time together. Students explored the area side by side, shopping and making their own memories. The day closed with a facilitated reflection session where our batch shared what the week had meant to them.
This is what intercultural growth looks like in practice โ structured, guided, and ultimately, deeply human.

Day 4 took our students through two landmarks that tell the story of Matsuyama โ past and present. The morning began with a guided tour of ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐น๐ฒ, one of only twelve castles in Japan to retain its original structure, offering sweeping views of the city and a tangible connection to Japanese history.
After lunch, they visited the ๐๐ต๐ถ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ โ a look at how regional governance works in Japan today.
Cultural depth, civic context, and breathtaking views โ exactly the kind of learning you canโt get from a textbook.

Day 3 was largely a homestay day โ and out of respect for the families who opened their homes to our students, weโre keeping most of those moments private.
What we can share: by evening, our students were back at the hotel for a very ordinary (and very real) task โ a trip to the coin laundry.
Itโs a small detail, but it says something bigger: living abroad isnโt just the highlight-reel moments. Itโs also learning to navigate everyday life in a new country โ with our team there to guide them through it, every step of the way.

Day 2 paired structured cultural exploration with something even more valuable โ genuine connection. Our students were grouped with local tour guides and Japanese student companions to explore historic Dogo together, then given free time to share lunch and explore at their own pace, side by side with their new Japanese friends.
By late afternoon, it was time to head back to the hotel and prepare for the next chapter: meeting their homestay families for the first time.
This is intercultural learning the way we believe it should happen โ guided, balanced, and built on real relationships.
