CGS GUIMARAS PERSONNEL JOINED INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE

LOOK: The Coast Guard Station (CGS) Guimaras, together with its Sub-Stations, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), various government agencies, local officials, partner organizations, and community members, actively participated in the International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) Drive on 19 September 2026 within their respective Areas of Responsibility (AOR).

The activity aimed to promote and sustain the cleanliness of coastal areas and waterways, protect the marine environment, and strengthen environmental awareness and community participation in preserving and protecting our valuable coastal resources.

Through the collective efforts of all participating individuals and organizations, a total of 40 sacks of non-biodegradable waste, plastic trash, and marine debris were collected along the coastline.

This initiative contributes in reducing marine litter, preventing pollution, and mitigating environmental risks that may contribute to flooding and other hazards. More importantly, activities such as this foster a sense of shared responsibility in protecting our seas and coastal communities, helping ensure a cleaner, safer, and healthier marine environment for present and future generations.

Coast Guard Station (CGS) Capiz, together with Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Ivisan, CGSS Libas, and its Operational Control (OPCON) Units, participated in the Simultaneous Coastal Clean-Up in observance of the International Coastal Clean-Up Day, today, 19 September 2026.

The activity was conducted at Brgy. Culasi, Roxas City, Capiz; Brgy. Balaring, Ivisan, Capiz; and Sitio Mandulalao, Brgy. Barra, Roxas City, Capiz, emphasizing the collective efforts of the Philippine Coast Guard and its partner communities in promoting environmental protection, marine conservation, and cleaner coastal areas.

Through sustained collaboration and community participation, CGS Capiz continues to encourage collective action in safeguarding the marine environment and preserving our coastal resources for the benefit of present and future generations.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The Philippine Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV), together with personnel from Coast Guard Station Iloilo, OPCON units, BRP Kalanggaman (2404), BRP Romblon (3503), BFAR MCS-3009, and the 601st PCGA Squadron, joined hands in the observance of the International Coastal Clean-Up 2026 at Villa Arevalo, Iloilo City, today,September 19, 2026.

The activity brought together Coast Guard personnel, PCGA members, partner agencies, and other stakeholders in a unified effort to promote environmental awareness, maintain the cleanliness of coastal areas, and help protect marine ecosystems from pollution and other environmental threats.

Through this initiative, the CGDWV continues to strengthen its commitment to marine environmental protection, community participation, and inter-agency cooperation, contributing to the preservation of clean, safe, and sustainable coastal communities.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV), led by its District Commander, Commodore Ludovico D Librilla Jr PCG, warmly welcomed the Inspector General, Coast Guard Inspector General and Internal Affairs Service (CGIG-IAS), Rear Admiral Oliver S Tanseco PCG, together with the Deputy Inspector General, CGIG-IAS, Commodore Cynthia E Esquivias PCG and the Annual General Inspection (AGI) Team at Headquarters, Coast Guard District Western Visayas (HCGDWV), Zone II, Brgy. Obrero, Lapuz, Iloilo City on September 16, 2026.

The CGIG-IAS conducted a three-day Annual General Inspection (AGI) covering various areas of assessment, including the entrance briefing, rank inspection, facilities and barracks inspection, office management and records inspection, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Fi****ms Proficiency Test (FPT), Swimming Qualification Test (SQT), and the administration of the Morale and Discipline Survey (MADS) among CGDWV personnel, culminating in an exit briefing.

As part of the overall assessment, various drills were likewise conducted at HCGDWV and other Coast Guard Stations, including fire drills, arresting techniques drills and general quarters drills, to assess the preparedness and response capabilities of personnel.

The AGI aimed to evaluate the operational readiness, capabilities and effectiveness of PCG units in the performance of their respective mandates and missions. It also emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of morale, welfare and discipline, strengthening leadership and accountability at all levels, and ensuring the proper, efficient and responsible utilization of government resources.

The conduct of the Annual General Inspection reinforces the PCG commitment to operational excellence, accountability, discipline and continuous improvement in delivering responsive, efficient and professional maritime services to the Filipino people.

Class 27-2026 conducted a Mental Health Awareness Activity to promote mental well-being and resilience among the students. The activity was held at Maalab Hall, Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV).

Facilitated by CDR Dyan Jhonnes O. Boter PCG, with LTJG Charmaine Joy S. Tandoy PCG and ENS Krzia Mae A. Teh PCG, the session focused on recognizing stress, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and fostering a supportive environment among fellow personnel.

The activity reflects the CGWCEIS Training Instituteโ€™s commitment to holistic trainingโ€”developing personnel who are not only technically competent, but also mentally resilient, responsible, and ready to serve.

ILOILO CITY: The Coast Guard Radio Operations and Maintenance Specialization Course (CGROMSC) โ€œCOASTWAVEโ€ Class 27-2026 conducted its Course Directorsโ€™ Time led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Arnel G. Casiano PCG, Course Director, at the CGDWV Main Lobby.

As a training standard imposed by the Coast Guard Training Institute, CD Time gives students regular guidance and an opportunity to raise concerns, clarify requirements, and better understand what is expected of them during the course.

The session also emphasized discipline, professional bearing, punctuality, accountability, teamwork, and following established rules. These are important qualities that students need as they prepare for their future duties in the Philippine Coast Guard.

Administrative matters were also discussed to keep students informed about their course requirements, responsibilities, schedules, and procedures.

More than addressing concerns, CD Time also serves as a motivation and guidance session. Students were encouraged to stay focused, persevere, and embrace excellence as they work toward completing the course. They were reminded that their training prepares them to take on their specialized roles and responsibilities in the organization.

The activity ended with an Open Forum, where students raised questions and concerns about their training, schedules, class activities, and other matters. The Course Director provided the necessary guidance and encouraged students to communicate openly with the training staff and follow proper channels in resolving concerns.

Through Course Directorsโ€™ Time, the Training Institute continues to guide students toward becoming competent, disciplined, and mission-ready Coast Guard personnel, ready to perform their specialized roles with excellence.
