SMAIC Holds Parents' Orientation 2026

St. Mary’s Academy of Iloilo City, Inc. opened its doors to both new and returning parents for the annual Parents' Orientation held at the school gymnasium. Setting a positive tone for the academic year 2026–2027, the event brought families together to align goals, receive vital updates, and prepare for the academic year ahead.

The highlight of the gathering was the formal introduction of our school administration, faculty, and staff. Parents had the opportunity to meet the educators, administrators, and personnel who will be nurturing their children's growth.

To ensure a smooth transition into the new school year, the administration walked parents through the school's mission, vision, goals, essential policies, student regulations, and even the curriculum and grading system.

Our orientation proved to be more than just a meeting; it was a powerful reminder that students' success relies on a unified effort. We encourage all parents to stay connected, stay involved, and maintain an open line of communication with the school.

Thank you for your presence and unwavering support, parents! Welcome to AY 2026–2027!

SMAIC Strengthens Inclusive Excellence Through Seminar on Current Trends

As we prepare for the School Year 2026-2027, St. Mary's Academy of Iloilo City Inc. underwent a seminar entitled "Current Trends in Inclusive Education." Held yesterday, May 14, and guided by the expertise of Frank S. Emboltura, RN, M.Ed. SPED, the faculty explored how the structural changes in our "Architectures of Inclusion" must evolve to meet the diverse needs of our students.

The session highlighted the Pillars of Modern Inclusive Education that are reshaping our schools:
✅️Tech-Driven Personalization: Leveraging AI and assistive tools to create adaptive learning paths that meet students exactly where they are.
✅️Expanded Co-Teaching: Moving beyond traditional models to foster collaborative environments where educators share expertise to support diverse needs.
✅️Systemic Structures: Implementing intentional, school-wide frameworks that provide a solid and sustainable foundation for inclusion.

By examining MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and the shift toward multimodal assessments, we are ensuring that "inclusive" is more than just a buzzword—it’s a structural reality for the upcoming academic year.

Huge thanks to our distinguished speaker, Sir Frank, for such an empowering and insightful session!

In pursuit of continuous academic improvement, the faculty of St. Mary’s Academy of Iloilo City, Inc. participated in a specialized orientation and workshop facilitated by the school principal— Mr. Michael T. Jalbona, focusing on the upcoming implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar and essential instructional reforms.

The orientation and workshop, held yesterday, May 12, 2026 at the SMAIC Gym, dived deep into a strategic shift designed to maximize instructional consistency while prioritizing both learner achievement and teacher wellness.

Throughout the day, the dedicated educators engaged on:

✅ Simplified Instructional Planning – streamlining lesson designs to focus on quality teaching.
