The 𝑩𝑺 𝑩𝒊𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝟒𝒕𝒉 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 visited the 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 as part of the requirements for 𝐁𝐒𝐂 𝟐𝟎𝟗: 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐲, under the guidance of their subject instructor, 𝑴𝒂. 𝑨𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂 𝑨. 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒂, 𝑴𝑨𝑩𝒊𝒐. This educational tour gave the students a deeper appreciation of the connection between plants, history, and the country’s economic development—a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom.

The group proudly secured 𝑩𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑶𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 – 𝟑𝒓𝒅 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 (𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝟔) 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝑵𝑶𝑺𝑻𝑬 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒔, held on April 23–25, 2026 at St. Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines. Anchored on the theme “STEAM Education for Sustainable Futures: Empowering Teachers and Volunteers as Change Catalysts,” the event gathered researchers and innovators committed to advancing science education and sustainability.

This achievement highlights the outstanding efforts of the researchers—𝑲𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒚𝒏 𝑻𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒐, 𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑱𝒐𝒚 𝑨. 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒐, 𝑵𝒋𝒂𝒚 𝑷. 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒂, 𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒆𝒍𝒂 𝑷. 𝑺𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒚𝒂, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑱𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑨. Pinning and Coating Ceremony, a meaningful celebration anchored on the theme "𝙃𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙪𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚, 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚.” This special occasion marked an important milestone in the academic and professional journey of the third year Biology students as they formally embraced a deeper sense of purpose, responsibility, and dedication to the field of science.

The program began with the Processional March, setting a solemn and dignified tone for the ceremony. It was followed by the 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝘼𝙙𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙖 𝘿. 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙟𝙤𝙣, 𝙋𝙝𝘿, 𝙍𝘾𝙝𝙢, 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙨, who warmly opened the event and recognized the importance of the gathering. Inspiring words were then shared through the𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙇. 𝘼𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚, 𝙋𝙝𝘿, 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨, reminding everyone of the value of perseverance, excellence, and commitment in the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

The ceremony became even more meaningful with heartfelt messages from the student leaders, 𝘼𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙡𝙖-𝙤𝙣𝙜, 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙎 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝟑-𝘼, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙆𝙝𝙧𝙮𝙨𝙨 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙅𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙖, 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙎 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝟑-𝘽,who both expressed the sentiments, hopes, and aspirations of the students as they reached this significant stage in their academic life. Their messages reflected the journey of every Biology student, filled with challenges, sacrifices, growth, and determination. This was followed by the Biology Promotional Video Presentation, which highlighted the identity, vision, and spirit of the Biology program.

A meaningful message was also delivered by 𝙈𝙖. 𝘼𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙖, 𝙈𝘼 𝘽𝙞𝙤, 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮,whose words served as both encouragement and guidance to the students as they continue to prepare for greater responsibilities ahead. One of the most awaited parts of the program was the 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙙 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝘽𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙇. 𝘼𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚, 𝙋𝙝𝘿, 𝙈𝙖. 𝘼𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙣𝙖, 𝙈𝘼 𝘽𝙞𝙤, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖. 𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙫𝙞 𝘾. This symbolic rite represented the students’ transition into a more serious and committed phase of their academic and professional preparation, reminding them that the white coat and pin are not only symbols of achievement but also symbols of accountability, service, and integrity.

The ceremony was further strengthened by the 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗠𝗮. 𝗔𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗔. 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗮, where the students solemnly affirmed their dedication to the ideals and responsibilities of their discipline. It was then followed by an 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗢𝟭 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗼 𝗖. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗼, 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗕, 𝗣𝗖𝗚, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘀, 𝗠𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗚-𝗪𝗩, whose words encouraged the students to remain steadfast, disciplined, and purposeful as they continue their journey toward becoming future professionals in science.

As a gesture of appreciation, the program also included the Giving of Certificate and Token to the Guest Speaker, as well as the Giving of Certificate and Token to the BIOPHILIA Officers, Advisers, Co-Advisers, and the BIOSCOPE Publication Team, recognizing their valuable contributions, service, and support in making the event successful. Important academic matters were also discussed, including the 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟. 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲, 𝗣𝗵𝗗, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗝𝗧 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 given by 𝗠𝗮. 𝗔𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗔. 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗮, which prepared the students for the next essential steps in their academic training and future professional exposure.

The event concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲 𝗕. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗗𝗖-𝗕𝗜𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗔, leaving everyone with a sense of pride, inspiration, and renewed commitment. The 2nd Pinning and Coating Ceremony was not only a celebration of achievement but also a reflection of the students’ readiness to uphold the values of knowledge, integrity, and innovation as they move forward in shaping the future of science.
