Hua Siong Takes a Step Toward Better Healthcare with PhilHealth YAKAP!

On September 9, 2026, the employees of Hua Siong College of Iloilo participated in the PhilHealth YAKAP Orientation and First Patient Encounter (FPE) held at the Irene Ang Jun Teng Uygongco Auditorium.

The orientation introduced the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP), including how it works, its healthcare benefits, and the available medicine assistance. The orientation was facilitated by Ms. Chiena Mae B. Chong, PhilHealth Information Officer Alternate, who guided our faculty and staff through the important details of the program. After the orientation, employees proceeded with their First Patient Encounter (FPE) to begin availing of the program.

FPOP Community Health Care Birthing Center and Laboratory, Inc. provided various healthcare services during the FPE, including blood extraction, vital signs monitoring, urinalysis, ECG, medical consultation, and medicine dispensing. Meanwhile, West Visayas State University Medical Center and Medicus Diagnostic Center and Medical Clinics also accommodated employees for their First Patient Encounter as accredited healthcare providers.

Hua Siong employees welcomed the opportunity to access the YAKAP right within the institution. This initiative reflects Hua Siong College of Iloilo’s commitment to supporting programs that promote accessible healthcare and employee well-being.

Hua Siong College of Iloilo warmly appreciates PhilHealth for being a valued partner in making this initiative possible. Together, we continue to bring meaningful healthcare opportunities closer to our employees because taking care of the people who help make our school a home is always worth it.
