The Technology Caravan is designed to promote the adoption and utilization of additive manufacturing technologies among academic institutions through technical presentations, live demonstrations, institutional engagement, and discussions on potential areas for collaboration.
Throughout the three-day caravan, faculty members, researchers, students, administrators, and other university personnel were introduced to 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝟒.𝟎 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, including the basic workflow and applications of 3D printing. Participants also witnessed live 3D printing demonstrations, viewed sample fabricated products, and learned about the facilities, services, and technical assistance available through AMCen WV.
Beyond the demonstrations, the caravan provided an avenue for AMCen WV and the participating universities to explore opportunities for collaboration in 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫, 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
The first leg of the caravan also served as an opportunity to strengthen institutional linkages among 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬, 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐬, helping create pathways for future collaborative activities and technical engagements.

The BINHI Founders Huddle & Connect: “Money Matters: Financial Management for Founders” brought together BINHI TBI Student and Professional founders for an afternoon of learning, meaningful conversations, and practical insights on managing finances throughout the startup journey.

With Mr. Joseph Joshua U. Te, CPA, Owner and Manager of Te Accounting Office, our founders gained valuable perspectives on financial management—from understanding the numbers to making smarter financial decisions as their ventures grow.

Altiora Digital Services, an Ilonggo digital education initiative under the WVSU BINHI Technology Business Incubator, is helping schools strengthen industry-ready learning through interactive simulations and responsible artificial intelligence education.

Its flagship platform, GDSpark, provides students with hands-on practice in airline reservations, flight availability, PNR creation, fare pricing, ticketing, and customer-service scenarios. GDSpark is now accessible to Illoilo City Community College( ICCC), Green International Technological College (GITC), giving its learners valuable exposure to real-world travel operations.

Altiora also offers Altiora PMS, an academic hotel-management simulation covering reservations, front office, housekeeping, cashiering, and reporting. These tools help faculty members bring practical industry workflows into the classroom.

Through academic workshops, faculty orientations, certifications, and supervised simulations, Altiora Digital Services supports institutions in preparing students for the evolving demands of the travel, tourism, hospitality, and business sectors.

Guided by its tagline, “Aim Higher. Think Altiora.”, the Ilonggo initiative continues to promote accessible, technology-enabled education and stronger connections between classroom learning and industry practice.

From Setback to Sweet Success: 21-Year-Old Ilonggo Turns Banana Chips Into Winning Agribusiness

At just 21, Roel Jay Caoyonan of Brgy. Arac, Passi City, Iloilo turned his family’s simple banana chips livelihood into a promising agribusiness — with a chocolatey twist.

Roel’s journey, recently featured by the Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas, began after an accident forced him to temporarily stop his studies. Instead of allowing the setback to derail his plans, he decided to continue what his mother had long been doing to support their family: making and selling banana chips.

But Roel saw an opportunity to make their product stand out.

He created PintaChoco Banana Chips, combining the familiar Filipino snack with chocolate to offer something different to the market.

The young entrepreneur got a major boost in 2024 when he joined the Department of Agriculture’s Young Farmers Challenge. PintaChoco emerged as a winner at both the provincial and regional levels, providing Roel with additional capital and, just as importantly, the confidence to grow his venture.

For Roel, however, PintaChoco is about more than building a profitable business.

His goal is to help lift his family from poverty while creating opportunities for local farmers whose produce can become part of value-added products like his. He also hopes his story can encourage other young people to see agriculture differently — not only as farming, but as a space for entrepreneurship, innovation and new ideas.

From continuing his mother’s humble livelihood to becoming an award-winning young agripreneur, Roel’s story shows how a setback can become a starting point for something bigger.

And sometimes, a simple banana chip just needs a little twist — and a young farmer willing to dream beyond it.
