Last night, I was talking with friends ~ a Kids' Choice Award is quite endearing to hear, because it's what kids like! Children's books are often read and bought by adults (purchasing power), and they are often chosen because of their literary importance, values, and didactic nature to teach moral lessons.
But what if a child is the one who judges a book? What do they like?
Beyond this, I'm reminded that we all have an advocacy to share.
Danielle Florendo and I are grateful for another award at the end of the year! ✨😍 Dani has her research and community advocacies in the Cordillera Region and has made strides as an author, too!
I have Bata Ako PH and there's another role I'm taking next year! Which requires me to travel and serve more children's communities!
Ahem-ahem, shhhh! I'm a bit quiet this year ~ thankfully, 2024 is meant for resting, indeed! I have to finish my master's degree in public administration specifically for children's policies and all. I also have a day job to attend to, and Phase 1 of the next line of published books to announce between October and December of 2024.
Congratulations again to Ate Bambi Rodriguez! Ate has two books under the Super Maya PH series and that's a huge win! Super Maya books are about the experiences of a little girl who is hard of hearing (HOH), and a takeaway from Ate Bambi's own experiences. Ate Bambi has her advocacy for HOH communities ~
A huge congratulations to everyone! Best Reads most of all! And fellow Kids' Choice Awardees.
