Last January 30, 2025, Students of Iloilo City National High School diverged their mathematical wits and talents in the most anticipated 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐋𝐘𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐒 2025 with the theme "𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑮𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔."

Fun and excitement even added more colors to the event as contestants participated in various games and segments such as 𝑅𝑢𝑏𝑖𝑘'𝑠 𝐶𝑢𝑏𝑒, 𝑇𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑚𝑠, 𝑆𝑢𝑑𝑜𝑘𝑢, 𝑇𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑓 𝐻𝑎𝑛𝑜𝑖, 𝑇𝑖𝑐-𝑡𝑎𝑐-𝑡𝑜𝑒, 𝐾𝑎𝑘𝑢𝑟𝑜, 𝑀𝑎𝑡ℎ 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑙, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐻𝑢𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑐 𝑀𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑠.

Mathlympics 2024 united more than 800 City Highnons for a day of numerical excitement. With the theme "Empowering resilient communities and fostering sustainability through the application of mathematics", the event featured engaging activities like Math Bingo, Math Trail, Sudoku, Rubik's, and more. Participants navigated through a captivating journey in the Math Trail, solving real-life mathematical challenges strategically placed throughout the venue. This not only tested their problem-solving skills but also showcased the practical application of mathematics in our daily lives. A trailblazing experience that merged fun and learning seamlessly!

Important Announcement: Mathlympics Date Change!

🚨 Due to unforeseen circumstances, the date for Mathlympics has been rescheduled. Instead of taking place on February 24, 2024, we are thrilled to announce that Mathlympics will now be held on March 2, 2024!

This decision was made to ensure that we can provide the best possible experience for all our members. We understand that this change may cause some inconvenience, but we believe it will ultimately lead to a more successful and enjoyable Mathlympics.

So, mark your calendars and get ready for an extraordinary day filled with mind-boggling puzzles, thrilling math competitions, and engaging workshops. Mathlympics is the perfect opportunity to expand your mathematical skills, make new friends, and have a blast!

Last December 21, 2023, the Calculus Crusaders, in collaboration with other clubs led by the SSLG, worked together to provide essential supplies such as food, clothing, and other necessities to the residents of Brgy. Salvacion Habog-Habog impacted by the recent fire incident.

In solidarity through these trying times, let's stand strong, supporting each other as an unwavering community🫂.

Today is Fibonacci Day, a day to celebrate the beauty and wonder of mathematics.

Fibonacci Day is a day to celebrate math and Leonardo Bonacci, who brought the Hindu-Arabic numerals and the Fibonacci sequence to Europe. The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where each one is the sum of the previous two. The golden ratio is about 1.618 and it is found by dividing a Fibonacci number by its previous one. The golden ratio shows up in many natural and artistic things, like the Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Fibonacci Day is celebrated on November 23 because the date matches the first four digits of the sequence: 11/23. Let's honor Fibonacci and his legacy by exploring the amazing patterns and connections that math reveals in our world!

Hold on tight, because we're about to take a wild ride! Brace yourself for this mind-boggling fact: "Hundred" doesn't actually mean what you think it means!

The word "hundred" has been playing us this whole time! It was actually born from the Old Norse word "hundrath," which means "long hundred" and equals 120! That's right, folks, our good old hundred is actually 20 more than we thought. Blame it on the duodecimal system!
