𝘾𝘼𝙇𝙇 𝙁𝙊𝙍 𝙋𝘼𝙋𝙀𝙍𝙎

The West Visayas State University - College of Law Journal for Law Advocacy for the Visayan Region and Southern Philippines is a student-run publication dedicated to the development of legal scholarship within the region. It is currently accepting submissions of student-authored papers, preferably in plain English, that will cover legal articles and commentaries, law book reviews, case notes, and comments on recent legislation, procedural rules, and jurisprudence.

The call is open to Juris Doctor students from the West Visayas State University and from all schools in the Visayas Region and Southern Philippines offering a Juris Doctor (JD) Program, as well as from Faculty members of the West Visayas State University - College of Law. All submissions will undergo a blind peer review process. Submissions will be considered for the Journal’s Fifth Issue and must adhere to the following requirements:

(1) The submission must address a topic that explores this year’s theme: “𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗔 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻”

(2) The submission must:
not be more than 5,000 words;
be in Times New Roman, font size 12, single spaced, with pagination and summary of word count;
conform with basic standards of academic and legal writing;
conform with the Bluebook on footnote, punctuation, and citation; and
contain a cover letter addressed to the Executive Editor containing relevant information about the author, his or her institutional affiliation, and contact number.

The Journal for Law Advocacy Board of Editors, along with the newly recruited Editorial Apprentice, conducted their meeting to discuss the plans for publishing the Y4 Volume 5 Journal Articles with the theme of:

"Championing Constitutional Rights: Navigating the Bill of Rights in the Digital Revolution.”

The meeting discussed matters such as articles received, layout designs, and finalization of printing and distribution.
