A life ready to serve, to comfort, and to save.

Yet fate, unyielding and incomprehensible, intervened before his oath could be lived aloud. And now, what remains is not silence, but the weight of a future unfinished.

We, the Augustinian Student Nurses, stand with his family not only in sorrow, but in the pursuit of answers. For a life so full of promise deserves more than unanswered questions.

It deserves justice.

For Frank.
For the life he lived.
For the future that should have been.

Rest peacefully, Frank. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Tonight, the once-loud halls of Gamboa fall into silence,
as we gather in stillness for a fellow nursing student,
๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ค ๐‘๐จ๐ข๐ฌ ๐€. ๐๐š๐ซ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐š ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

He stood on the edge of a dreamโ€”
a graduating nursing student,
ready to heal, to serve, to save lives.
But before he could wear his badge with pride,
his life was taken.

We remember his name with respect,
and stand with his family during this difficult time.
As questions remain,
we call for clarity and understanding,
and for every voice to be heard.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Our Beloved Sir Juniel! ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

In his absence, the halls and classrooms of Gamboa, the spaces he once filled now carry a quiet sense of longing. Yet, alongside this sadness is a deep sense of pride. The systems he established, the values he instilled, and the inspiration he provided continue to live on in every project completed, research disseminated and every milestone achieved.

As we remember him, we often imagine him now in a place of peace, where the skies are painted in soft shades of pink, a gentle tribute to his favorite color and the warmth he embodied. It is a comforting thought, one that reflects both the tenderness of his memories and the enduring impact he left behind.

Though he is no longer physically present, Sir Juniel F. Dela Riarte II continues to inspire. His influence is etched into the identity of the organization, and his vision lives on through the students who strive each day to uphold the excellence he believed in.

And in every laugh, every story retold, and every moment of gratitude, it becomes clear that he was deeply, genuinely loved, and always will be.

On the second day of the conference, the atmosphere shifted from formal discourse to dynamic engagement as participants took part in a SNAP Leadership and Team Building Activity. This segment was facilitated by Professor Japheth Jingco from Riverside College, Inc., whose energy and expertise transformed the space into one of collaboration, trust, and shared purpose. Officers and student leaders from 21 nursing schools across Western Visayas came together, creating a vibrant and diverse environment where different experiences and perspectives enriched every interaction.

As the activities unfolded, bonds were strengthened not only within institutions but also across the 21 participating schools. Barriers dissolved, new friendships were formed, and a sense of regional unity became evident. Participants discovered not only the strengths of their teammates but also their own capacity to lead, to listen, and to grow. The experience served as a powerful reminder that leadership in nursing extends beyond clinical expertiseโ€”it thrives in teamwork, resilience, and the willingness to learn from one another.

By the end of the session, what remained was more than just enjoymentโ€”it was a renewed sense of unity and purpose shared among future nurses of Western Visayas.

OF SAN AGUSTIN

There are moments in nursing education that do not simply pass as eventsโ€”but settle into memory as turning points. The Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing, Inc. (ADPCN) Region VI Conference, held on March 26โ€“27, 2026 at Filamer Christian University in Roxas City, Capiz, was one of those moments. Anchored on the theme โ€œEducate, Innovate, and Lead for Safer Nursing Practice,โ€ the gathering became more than a convergence of institutionsโ€”it became a shared commitment to shaping the future of nursing with intention and integrity.

On the first day, the atmosphere was charged not just with anticipation, but with purpose. Participants were immersed in the wisdom of keynote speaker Dr. Ryan Michael F. Oducado, whose insights challenged conventional thinking and called for a deeper, more responsive approach to nursing education. His message resonated with both educators and students alikeโ€”reminding everyone that competence in nursing is not static, but something continuously refined through reflection, research, and relevance.
This was further enriched by the plenary sessions led by Dr. Gelbert Jan S. Porque and Dr. Sarla Duller, whose discussions opened new perspectives on innovation and leadership in clinical practice. Their talks moved beyond theory, bridging real-world application with the evolving demands of healthcare. Each session became a space not only for learning, but for unlearning outdated practices and reimagining safer, more adaptive nursing systems.

One of the most engaging segments of the day was the academic exchange, where ideas were not merely presented but actively interrogated and explored. Facilitating this exchange were Ms. Ma. Kaisha Ann Escanda Barrios and Mr. Mark Justin Saporno from the University of San Agustin, who served as moderators and interviewers. As the conference unfolded, it became clear that its impact extended far beyond the two-day program. It was not just about what was learned, but about what was carried forwardโ€”the responsibility to educate with purpose, to innovate with courage, and to lead with accountability in ensuring safer nursing practice ๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ๐Ÿฆ…
