Last September 30, we had the chance to spend an afternoon with the little readers at UPV Balay-Balay Child Minding Center for a simple storytelling session in celebration of UPV Performa's 9th Anniversary.

We shared a story, listened to their little reactions, and watched their imaginations take over. It was a short and simple afternoon, but seeing the kids listen, laugh, and enjoy the story made it one worth remembering.

We would like to thank the UPV Balay-Balay Child Minding Center organizers for welcoming us and helping make the session possible. To our sponsors and generous supporters, thank you for helping us bring this little activity to life. Nine years ago, we were just a group of people who wanted to create, perform, and tell stories. Somewhere along the way, Performa became more than that.

Looking through these photos, itโ€™s funny how much can fit into nine years. Different faces, different stages, different productions, different people behind the scenes. Some of us were once the ones rehearsing late, memorizing lines, fixing costumes, moving props, figuring out lights, or nervously waiting for our cue. Now, some of those same people are already far beyond the stage.

There were probably moments we thought we would never miss: the long rehearsals, the last-minute changes, the chaos backstage, the โ€œone more runโ€ that turned into five more. But looking back now, those are the moments we remember most.

Because Performa was never just about the performances. It was about the people we met along the way. The friendships that started during rehearsals. The inside jokes that only the cast and crew understood. The random conversations after practice. The little moments that never made it into the final show, but somehow became part of the story anyway.

Nine years later, the faces may have changed, but the heart of Performa remains.

To everyone who has ever been part of this journey, whether you stood under the spotlight or worked quietly behind it, thank you for leaving a little piece of yourself here. These memories belong to all of us.

And as we turn another page, we carry every laugh, every mistake, every applause, every story, and every person with us.

Sining sa Gitna ng Dilim: Sa Tanghalan ng Katarungan

Hindi nagtatapos sa simpleng pagtatanghal ang ating tungkulin bilang mga alagad ng sining. Sa paggunita sa ika-54 na taon ng Deklarasyon ng Batas Militar, buong-lakas at walang-takot na tumatayo ang UPV Performa upang baklasin ang historikal na distorsyon, pasismo, at pag-abuso sa kapangyarihan.

Noong panahon ng kadiliman, ginamit ng rehimen ang kultura bilang imburnal at mascara upang itago ang dugo, karahasan, at pagpaslang. Ngunit mas nag-alab ang sining ng mamamayanโ€”naging sandata ito upang magpamulat, magpaalala, at magpalaya.

Ngayong ML54, ang ating mga boses, likha, at pagtatanghal ay hindi lamang pag-alala; ito ay laban. Iniaalay natin ito sa mga pinatahimik, sa mga pilit na pinawala, at sa bawat mamamayang patuloy na nagtatanggol sa katotohanan.

Hangga't may nagtatangkang burahin ang kasaysayan at lapastanganin ang katarungan, hindi kami tatahimik.
