ICYMI: Another achievement for the College of Management! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽถ

A heartfelt congratulations to the people who participated in the Christmas Chorale Competition and Parol-Making Contest held during the Christmas Tree-Lighting Event 2024 at PHINMA University of Iloilo. The event was a success, with food stalls placed in the university's Quad B, while students filled the venue, not wanting to miss a chance to witness a miraculously mesmerizing event.

Let's not forget to personally commend ourselves for a job well done! Placing 3rd place in Parol-Making Contest and second place in Christmas Chorale Competition, was a testament of our collaboration and a manifestation of a unified department. The only difference among us are the field of our studies, but we proved ourselves to be commendable for the teamwork and artistry. Cheers to more successes in the future!

Special thanks to our Program Heads, Sir Michael and Ma'am Gillian, Dean Connie, and the participation of every student involved during the program.

Salamat, at maligayang pasko! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

College of Management

"Lantern of Hope and Resilience"

It symbolizes the spirit and determination of the College of Management (COM) students, reflecting their journey through challenges and triumphs. With the guidance of God, students can navigate the complexities of their academic and personal lives. The star not only symbolizes the guiding light that inspired perseverance among students, but it is also a reflection of the things that resonate with the courses respectively under the College of Management. The Parol is made of materials derived from the curriculum of the said department and is made from recycled materials. All in all, the lantern serves as a reminder that faith and resilience are crucial in overcoming obstacles. The light of God (Christmas Light) serves as kasanag sa madulom nga dalanon sang mga pamatan on. May it serve as a symbol of hope for anyone who takes a glimpse of our creation, just like what it has been for us, the College of Management.

From Miagao to the World Stage: Monaliza Nabuabโ€™s WCOPA Opportunity
Weโ€™ve all heard of The Voice, Eurovision, Got Talent, Tawag ng Tanghalan, and the likes of X Factor on our televisions or, more specifically, on YouTubeโ€”and surely, if you are a talent show fanatic, you have most certainly heard of the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA), where talents like singing, dancing, acting, and musical performances battle it out for one true champion, with contestants from all over the world aiming for their countryโ€™s glory.
Auditions have been held nationwide, and only a select few were able to successfully pass and become our countryโ€™s representatives in WCOPA. This is why it is such a privilege for one of our fellow students to become a part of this prestigious competition to be held in Long Beach, California, this July 2025.
Monaliza Nabuab, a 21-year-old taking Bachelor in Science of Business Administration from Miagao, Iloilo, never truly thought she would be able to pass the audition, let alone become our countryโ€™s representative. But here she is, holding a certificate that authenticates her ability as a singer and serves as a keepsake that reminds us how valuable it is to never pass up a calling opportunity.
Growing up, it was apparent that Monaliza already had a knack for singing, and her talent further soared when she began joining local contests in their area, developing her artistic skill as a singer and honing confidence in her chosen style. This would not have been possible without the support of her friends and family, for whom she does this allโ€”people who continue to lift her name up in every singing event she attends, a key element in the success she has gained so far.
One of Miss Nabuabโ€™s recent successes was becoming one of our countryโ€™s representatives in WCOPA, an Olympic-style international meet held annually for aspiring performers and entertainers. Just this July 2024, the Philippines won over 294 medals and awardsโ€”and in 2025, Monaliza aims to get one of those medals under her name, representing our country in the Singing Category against thousands of contestants worldwide.
However, being in this competition entails some challenges that Monaliza will have to face, including conquering her fear of singing in public. It may seem strange for someone who has been doing this for most of her lifeโ€”with her father acting as her voice coach from a young age and her mother accompanying her through contestsโ€”Miss Nabuab has always carried that stage fear with her growing up. Although she has improved a lot since being part of the Special Program in the Arts during high school, Monaliza still wants to overcome this fear for the sake of her greatest dream: to enter Hollywood. Especially with WCOPA at hand, the 21-year-old plans to join more local competitions as training, committing to taking care of her voice by drinking water and avoiding cold refreshments.
Another one of Monalizaโ€™s greatest challenges in her WCOPA journey is the financial burden this opportunity also brings. The aspiring champion will need to cover the expenses for her travel, accommodation, food, allowances, and other costs in California. She knows that no matter how much training and effort she puts in, she and her family will not be able to cover all the fees alone.
Dreams are seeds; money is water. Without watering the seeds, dreams cannot grow into reality. This analogy specifically calls to Monaliza and how financial support will be the main factor in living her dream of performing in WCOPA. After all, pursuing a dream is like a businessโ€”one will need both a vision and the capital to execute it.
Which is why our team would like to call for financial aid to be directed to Monaliza Nabuab and her family. Any kind of contribution is gladly welcomed! Whether it is money or simple moral support, you can contact our fellow aspiring champion through the following details:

Let us all work together and extend our help to the pride of our university!
